Clean setup. I had my capacitor installed in the same spot as your amp. Took my custom subwoofer box and had it installed too with the bass knob as well. Also sound dampening applied.

Sorry to revive an old post. I never installed a LOC before. So did you just take the wires out of the factory sub (assuming you eliminated the factory sub) and run them into the loc. And then wires from loc to new amp.
And not have to run any wires from behind the head unit in the dash?

 

Yes to all of your questions. I cut the wires to the factory sub and connected an extra length of wire to go to the LOC. Then RCAs between LOC and Amp. No need to access anything behind the dash.

 

Gotcha. Was just curious as the front Bose tweeters have small capacitors which suggest they are passively filtered for high end frequencies. I bought a set of Focal separates I'm going to install but need to find the correct connector for the tweeter. I don't want to cut/splice the factory harness if possible.

Not sure what you are asking. The inputs on my LOC are just taking the (+) and (-) wire that go into the factory sub and use those on the inputs to get a mono signal on the LOC.

 

Did you get power to the LOC from the battery as well, or did you plug in to a fuse from fuse box?

 

I got the power from the battery and used a fuse block to send power to the amp and LOC.

When I connect the loc to the speaker, do I have to completely disconnect the speaker that I am connecting the lock too, or can I still have the stock speaker connected?

 

If you disconnect the stock speaker, you won't get any sound from it. If that is what you want, go for it. Otherwise, splice into the speaker wires to grab your signal to go to the LOC. Lots of info out there on how to do this.

 

What speakers did you use to connect your LOC? FR FL or RR RL? Did you wire the speaker wires from head unit or directly from soeaker?

 

I used the factory subwoofer wires. I am going to change it to the rear speaker wires though. grabbed the signal at the speakers.

 

Did you change where you grabbed your signal from yet? I’m about to throw in my audiocontrol setup into my Si. I’m also gonna use their 60ohm load generating device in line to deal with that stupid horrible Bose amp. You should use that to get better sound js. But it’s “AudioControl AC-LGD 60”. I really hate the fact I can’t install an android headunit into my Si though. But every other civic model you can. Makes nooooo sense whatsoever.
