Yeah with temps up I'm averaging 56mpg a tank now, with 47 lifetime including Canadian winter
2025 civic hybrid sport touring hatchback.
Urban Grey Pearl. Halifax NS
I have 11,000 kms after 6 months - a trip to NL - first oil change next week ( a little later than I had planed ) with wheel rotation. I'm very happy with mileage - same as yours 56 - 58 mpg.

At 10,000 miles (16,093 KM) for my almost a year old Hybrid HB Sport Touring, here are my observations on mileage. If just doing regular driving at 62 Miles per hr or 100 Km/hr on highway and what ever city speed (30 plus miles per hr) with 50/50 split on hwy and city driving, during cool weather last few weeks (not much use of the air con) and my last two tank logged 58.3 MPG or 4.03L/100 km measured at the pump. During the hotter weather with pretty much air con on all the time, it still got about 53 MPG or 4.44 L/100 Km. Worse are winter times. During the month of Feb, it actually measured out at 40.5 MPG or 5.8 L/100 Km.

I think driving habits and outside temperature for sure affecting the mileage a lot. During a run on highway driving which I averaged at 78 mile/hr (125 km/hr), the car's info said I was at 44 MPG (5.35 L/100 Km). Hybrids is the same as ICE, faster speed uses more fuel.

That's is the results as I would expect. Your analysis is right on in my opinion as I am tracking the same - however I have not gone through a winter season yet. I am in Nova Scotia. 2025 civic hybrid sport touring.

I am in Toronto. My observations was the ICE engine came on a lot more during winter. Plus I have snow tires and that for sure has something to do with the lower mileage. From the internet which I read a lot of people says Toyota did a better job during winter (their mileage differences between seasons are not as high as Honda).

I have same vehicle in urban grey pearl. I am feeling that the hybrid system is not engaging as much as it should be. 🤔 now the weather is turn cooler - I’m in Halifax NS. so it will be interesting. You have snow tires - did you mount them on the OEM alloys wheels or did you purchase new rims. Because the rotors are bigger on the hybrid model and require a rim with a deeper offset. ( ie +50 ) cant find in steel rim to so had to buy an alloy 18 in with the +50 offset.
because the vehicle has no spare and I was going on a fairly long trip - I purchased the aftermarket 18 inch +50 offset and a tire to have a spare - bit of a pain for sure. i am hoping to park the civic for a few months this winter - it is too low and it’s not AWD . We have a 2018 Subaru better equipped for winter driving so hopefully we can manage with one vehicle - but I am very interested how you are managing the snow tires on the Civic. And your mileage concerns.
cheers LTM

I have the same Urban Grey Pearl :). The tire shop suggested 17 inch rim for my winter tires set. I had Pirelli Ice Zero on these FDR HD217SB 5x114.3 rims. Originally going with Bridgestone Blizzak WS90 which the shop recommended but they were out of stock at the time. Have to admit 17" does ride a bit more compliance as they are 50R and not 45R. I don't do spirit driving that often anyway and during winter time, safety first so 17 inch is the logical choice for me. NO OEM for me as they are too expensive. I don't know much about NS's winter but we had a bitter cold winter in Toronto as compared to past few years and I had no issues with this combo. Ride height for sure is a bit low during winter but a few inches of snow are still fine. Anything more than 5 inches I will use my CR-V with 4 wheel drive. ;) A bit noisy though but it is winter tires with bolder patterns. Just have to live with lower mileage for the winter months (see my fuel record). They only thing I make sure is no short trip (less than 10 km) drive as I am afraid of the gas ICE is not fully warmed up and I have to shut it down. Avoids any carbon build up for longevity is my practice. (it is a direct injection set up so clean burning is not their strong point)

I am also planning some longer trip but no spares is a bit concerning. Need to have a spare even with CAA membership. I am looking for donut size and not full size spare as I think it will take up too much space in the trunk. Long story, didn't know the Hybrid will not fit the hitch that works on 2022 to 2024 models but not 2025 so I have to put my bike inside.

Hi HondaAvdW
I guess you purchased those 17 inch rims from tire shop for your 2025 Civic HB touring ? Did they mention the offset needed +50. ? the original rims are 18s with deeper offset. I had to stay with an 18 inch for my spare, the dealer found an aftermarket alloy that met the specs $235.00, and I bought a bargain brand tire ( it‘S only for a spare if needed) total cost about $550.00) when all mounted and with a tire wrap. ) I only use if I am going on a longer trip. There is no donut for 25 Hybrid Sport Touring (remember the offset) ( mine is hatchback) I could not find a steel rim that met the specs.
PS for storage i put mine behind the drivers seat - it will fit with seat fully back you just have to put it in at an angle - the pains we endure eh.

Yes, my 17" rim have +50 offset I believe. It's alloy (cheaper kind) and cost $750 (tax included - 13% here in Ontario) for the set of 4. Originally thinking steel rims and cost about $385 and was afraid of rust so I paid the extra and went with the alloy.

Have not done a full research on the donut wheel issues that you brought up. Nice to know. Thanks. Lots of people are saying manufactures are cutting cost ( or raise their profit margin) not putting a spare in the cars (even if the car have space). Our hybrid not having one maybe due to the battery taken up the space.

As for putting the full size spare behind the driver seat would it block the air vent for the battery (just below the middle back seat)?
