I found out that the Civic in Thailand and Malaysia have this emblem as stock. I always hated that my EX didn’t include a trim level emblem like for example that the Sport and Touring have on them. It may be on the cars in Japan too. I ordered one and will order a black one later when I black out my car.

I already know that everyone doesn’t like adding emblems and been through this when I put an i-VTEC emblem on my HR-V, also from Malaysia.

I always thought the non sport models missed out on those logos because they were intended to be more subtle cars. Contrast to every single sport owner out there who's convinced they can make the fastest coolest car on the planet with zero to little knowledge on the limitations of a NA I4 or their CVT transmission. Only thing worse than a sport owner is a si owner with a purple badge who's username starts with @discountmomoa 🤣

Yes, the HR-V does have the i-VTEC engine.

So now I'm confused, why does a base trim civic have more horsepower than an hrv? I get they basically weigh the same, but isn't it supposed to feel like a bigger car, and hence have a little more power? I'm not really the market for family vehicles though, if it were up to me I'd buy a rdx or something with a little more umph

I don’t really understand the marketing of the Sport, it doesn’t have the turbo or dual exhaust, what is “sport” about it?

The sport doesn’t have big power but thats not a prerequisite for being sporty. It has a sporty look and the suspension tuning is pretty fun for how well the car rides. Look at the Miata (always the answer) and how it’s become one of the most successful sports cars of all time and has never been particularly powerful

My mom has the new HRV and the cargo area seems smaller, not as deep front to back as my car.

My wife has the new CRV and it’s a box, absolutely massive

I think the Civic is definitely closer to the HRV, but there’s basically no performance tradeoff getting the hatch over the sedan (it’s actually got firmer suspension and rear sway bar) so I don’t know why someone would pick a sedan over a hatch practically speaking, unless they want the Si. I know not everyone likes the hatch look though

I think someone (mightve actually been cleanneon) mentioned a while back on another tobaggan post that the civic hatch looks like a sportback more than a hatchback. I know it's a big reason I chose the hatch over a normal sedan.

That was a reply from me in a thread that said that the rear quarter of the hatchback looked short when compared to the sedan but with the HPD spoiler then it looks extremely well.

Yes, my HR-V is an Mk2 (2016-2022) with the 1.8 liter and is incredibly slow, I knew it before, during and after the test drive. I absolutely love the car but just have one complaint, it’s incredibly slow.

I don’t have a preference one way or another but I feel like I would always take the Hatch/Wagon/Sportback variant of any car. I think the sport back look of the civic is more appealing because while some people love wagons other hate them, and this is more sedan looking, though not as sedan looking as the Kia Stinger which I didn’t even know was a hatchback until like 2 years ago

Panamera Sport Turismo, Volvo V60/90 Cross Country, Mercedes E Class Wagon, all better choices than their sedan counterparts.

It took a while but I have an OEM emblem from Thailand and will put it on soon. Here is a picture of a Civic in Thailand and is my reference for mounting the emblem. 75724-TBA-A00 is the part number.

I’m going to change all of the emblems to gloss black (eventually), including this one, but I’m putting chrome right now because the others are chrome for now.

Well, this emblem was $16 and will be easy to replace in the future. I want to black out the whole car at once and am in the process of collecting parts. I need the black window trim from the Sport. Also, I want to have all of the black bits in front painted gloss black (and upgrade to the Si grille) to match the HPD kit. So, it’s in progress but that’s a lot of parts to buy plus get painted, I’m a disabled veteran and have to budget. In short, I would do all of that now if I had the money.

These are stock in Asia and it has to be good for at least 5 hp.
