Considered buying 2025 Civic Hybrid, but found out it doesn’t have SXM satellite radio. So, no go.

Currently have 2019 Insight. I like it better because:
1) it has SXM radio built in
2) right side mirror camera
3) body styling that is more elegant than Civic

SXM radio not being built in is a blessing. No more extra button, and no calls/mail monthly from Serius get you to pay for their crappy service
Every car I've had in the last maybe 10 years has had satellite radio. Only used the free month they gave with them and never used them afterwards. Nothing you cant get now with like Spotify or Apple Music or whatever other streaming service there is.

Question- i have the sport touring hatch and have to stream SXM. It's OK I guess but I cannot figure out how to change the SXM channels with the push button channel scroller on the steering wheel or buttons left of the screen. I take it that you can't? Thx.

You can but... you need to be listening to one of the extra channels called "just music" It's essentially all the popular channels but just the music and no dj's or hosts. you can skip tracks as if you were listening to spotify. these channels work with the steering wheel controls but not the default channels because you can't skip songs. TBF you should be listening to the "just music" channels anyway because they are awesome.

SXM is such a rip-off! Seriously, you’re going to pay a monthly subscription of $10-$20 just for audio??

I mean some of the better video streaming services out there don’t cost as much.

You must live in your car or have so much disposable income that you have no clue what to do with it.

No it doesn't. I just got my new 2025 Civic Hybrid Hatchback Sport Touring trim. No satellite capability. I had not idea and am REALLY disappointed. Cell service or wifi hotspots in Colorado mountains are spotty in areas. I had no idea when I ordered the car and waited 3 months for it.

I had it on my last car for about $6 a month but would not pay more for it. Sound quality just not good. I had a roadtrip partly in a remote area last week and wish I'd planned ahead (all country, religion, and RWNJ). Next time I'll d/l some podcasts (i have a cheap mobile plan and don't stream).

I want to put in a plug though for the downloadable on-screen NRK app. It's Norwegian radio. A lot of channels, some of the content is in Norwegian, but there are a couple channels that have very solid 3-minute pop songs one-after-the-other with no commercials, global artists, with Nordic ones interspersed. News for a few minutes at the start of each hour. Good upbeat music content. There are also some German apps but I haven't gotten to them yet. iHeartRadio isn't bad for what it is.

Yes, same here. As long as you have decent cell service, the SXM app works great. And you get more stations. I’ve found that if you do any driving in the mountains, it can be more inconsistent using the satellite version in our other car.
