Why not a performance knob? Or is comfort your larger motivation?

I don't think they're exactly compatible with the shift boot.

Obviously the thread is the same, but for the ST (and I'd assume also for the Sport), the shift knob has a glued-in plastic ring at the base with two tabs to lock into the boot ring. And there isn't a lock nut to adjust the height of the knob, you have to screw it down as far as it will go.

I went the other direction from you - I tried to use a 9th gen Si shift knob and a 2007 Acura TSX knob (having both on hand) with my ST, even with a small plastic ring to catch onto the shift boot, the two knob didn't "line up" quite right. They went like a quarter turn too far. I had to use a few washers in lieu of a lock nut to raise the knob so it's look right.

So in the other direction, if you used an ST knob with your Si, I'd imagine the opposite: the little plastic ring with tabs would have nothing to hook onto.

I just installed the 27WON leather wrapped aftermarket shift knob and love it. I've never been a fan of metal (or metal/leather) shift knobs. The install was very easy and shift feel as improved. It's still very mechanical but some of the edge has been taken off from the stock Si knob. It's a little less than $100 on their website and would recommend to anyone who is looking to replace the OEM knob.

I like the 27WON knob's description, but dislike blank or "8-ball" type shift knobs - I like to see a shift pattern on the knob. Etched is best, or if a leather knob, like a metal or plastic decal set under it.

That's because at one point I had three cars with stick shifts all with different patterns, and yes sometimes I needed the reminder where R was, or if it was 5 or 6 gears, LOL

 

Thanks to you guys, yes, I prefer an OEM shifter. I liked my former 22 Sport's knob hence looking for an OEM take off. I can figure out the boot clip issue, likely just invert the boot and zip tie it up, then fold it down over the zip. No takers though... so I may just run the Si knob....

No they are stupid expensive. Honestly the more I use the Si one the more ok it is so I'll probably just abandon this idea.

 

I have one at home in the box of my aftermarket shift knob. Did you find one yet?

I'm currently using the Si knob from the 9th Gen with my ST, which is larger and rounder than the current Si knob

To me, the stock ST shift knob leather is a more "rubbery" and the shift pattern cap is plastic

My main problem is getting the knob to orient properly in my ST, if I screw it all the way down it's 90 degrees off.

You'll need to take the boot off and adjust the collar so it catches the knob at the right height to be oriented straight

I bought Acuity so that the collar matched the bottom contour of the new knob when I replaced mine
