I bought this phone holder. I place it like one inch from the vents so it doesn't block the air. What do you think about it?

It's personal preference. I went with the following because I don't have to take my eyes off the road to check phone.

I ordered this from an Etsy seller and will report on it after it has been received and installed. I like that it can go right or left of the steering wheel, anywhere along the length of the vent grille.

I was out of town and finally got around to installing. It meets my expectations fully and been stable in all conditions. The gimbal is adjustable and stays tight so far. I will probably experiment with locations but this one is closest to my hand. Apparently "magsafe" is primarily an Apple thing, but some phones have rings built in to their body or case. My phone is an oddball, and I just superglued a ring to the back of the bumper case.

Not really I use the steering volume most of the time. The HVAC doesn't get changed that much. Frankly the main purpose of this is to just get it up out of the cupholder. I might decide later to move it way farther to the right.

I'm using QuadLock magnetic wireless charging had and I 3D printed custom mount for it so phone is nicely tucked away but still handy.

I'm sometimes having an issue with phone overheating as there is no ventilation down there and I'm planning to hook into the ventilation shaft inside center console to bring some AC airflow right next to my phone. I'll take photos of the procedure when I get at it.
