Maintenance Minder "B" - How to inspect at home?

Hey everyone!

Just got the B maintenance minder on my Civic. 42K miles on it. The dealership website pricing is $300 to literally just "inspect" the car and do the scheduled oil change. I am in no way paying them to take a flashlight and look over the car. I saw the list online of things that need inspected on the car, but wanted to know if anyone has a comprehensive guide on what to look for/warning signs that something could be wrong. I don't want to pay $300, but also don't want to overlook a potential issue on my car by skipping an inspection.

I had an alignment done at 40K miles and they said my brakes are tires are in great shape, so I know at least those are good. :)

Are you on factory tires still? My contipros were toasted by 34k miles, maybe I get on the gas too much 😆
I've got 42K miles on my factory tires - they are doing alright, but will probably need replaced in the next year/year and a half. I do 85% city driving where my average mph is 25. Thinking about getting different rims and thicker tires for better ride comfort. I feel every bump with the Sport rims/factory tires, and there are lots of those in Ohio.
