Is the Velossa Tech Big Mouth intake snorkel worth it?

Or I suppose to elaborate on my question: would replacing the factory air dam built for the Si with the Velossa Tech snorkel affect my performance in a negative way?

I'd love the idea of it working as a functional intake, and I'd like to think that it would be a bit of a performance upgrade paired with my PRL HV intake system. I just can't seem to find any information online about R&D for this thing. What really has me intrigued is the Lit Kit. The NFS Underground 2 loving kid in me is screaming to get it for the cool light effect it gives behind the grille 😂. That said, I know the current air dam built into the factory header panel is designed well for air induction.

I'm also looking at 27WON's air snorkel that is currently being designed. It seems that they're putting a fair bit of work into researching how to make it optimal for performance. They may even end up doing something similar with the light effect at some point.

Has anyone had any experience with the Velossa Tech snorkel? Does it feel better? Worse? Indifferent? As long as it doesn't hinder performance I may go full ricer and just get it for the looks. Any input is appreciated!

My prior car was a 2015 Fiesta ST, and the FiST folks were fans of the VT snorkel, from what I remember. VT posted some data on fiestastforum w/ graphs, airflow charts, etc. The principle behind it seemed logical. I never bought one, but most people who did were fairly happy w/ it. I also recall some members taking airflow readings and claiming that it did help a little, but again, I have no personal experience w/ it. 🤷‍♂️

I had emailed them a while back but never heard anything back.

27won is creating and testing one for the Civic/Integra.

They posted a thread here too. It will hopefully be released this year and works with their soon to be released CAI.

Me personally I am waiting for them to finish theirs because they are making it specifically for our vehicle with extensive testing.

This guy did install the light up one

The video doesn't seem to do the product justice honestly. But I would go for the black snorkel instead of the white one. Also it makes me realize that I would probably want to change the grille out to a TR style before I get the snorkel 😂

Just to add I've watched almost every

I've probably watched every Velossa tech video for every model made. I think on certain cars people saw reduction in IAT when driving at highway speeds. Our cars have a perfect feed and hood seal for the "ram air". I just got the 27won SRI and will buy the next part of it and see how I like it. The 27won does comparatively seem bigger and different design. Being at all they do is make parts for us I feel theirs will be better

That is a good point. If I want lights in the grille I may as well just put lights in the grille 😂 and wait for the actual performance part to come about lol
