Yes I was going to mention that because I have more than one car but only one remote and when I tried to pull it down the other day I couldn't get it to budge! I'm going to have to work on getting it loose and go with the Velcro. The only challenge is getting whatever adhesive is used to stick to the plastic.

I had the MyQ for about 6 months and its a POS. Constant error messages. I didn't want to mess with a Homelink mirror install, so I bought the Meross MSG100. It's been flawless for my first 6 months. The MyQ went to the trash. Worth a look for anyone.

I started this discussion and would like to summarize my findings. I took delivery of my 2025 Civic Hybrid Sport Touring Sedan a little over 2 weeks ago. I was lucky in that my car is not subject to any recalls at this time including the steering gearbox. So far everything is great. Sure I wish it had cooling front seats and rear vents and charging outlets, but the car works well for me as I am usually the only passenger in the car. With regard to a garage door opener, I found the myQ app within HondaLink, but I decided not to use it for the reasons several of you pointed out. The original remote that works with the garage door works fine, but I decided to go with the Meross MSG100 which someone in this thread recommended. It was only $25 on Amazon and was very easy to install. It works with Alexa and Google as well as Siri if you pay a little more for the Apple HomeKit version. So far, the Meross MSG100 is working perfectly, and all I have to do is say "Alexa (or Google) open the garage door" or "Alexa (or Google) close the garage door". Easy peasy. Thanks to all for their help!

I'm curious if the built in myq will have the closing delay you get when you close your garage door with the myq app. I have alarm.com and my garage door linked through that - and also exposed to homekit with homebridge. I can open/close it from my Apple Carplay dash, but there's a 10ish second safety delay where the beeper and light goes off when closing. Can't seem to by pass it.

Maybe one day I'll dig into the center console and repurpose the blank slot where the auto engine start stop button normally is and convert it to the garage door remote!

Mounted my existing remote behind the mirror with two pieces of velcro. Its out of the way. The Honda solution wont work unless I update my Q compatible opener. Actually replacing Homelink with this bozo solution was a mistake on their part.

I currently have my remote behind mirror as well but I like the stealth switch remedy for when you may leave the car parked outside the garage when your not home. I ordered two of them just in case I decide to maybe add fog lights at some point down the line.

On the overhead panel between the mirror and the switches there is a flat surface to which I placed my garage door remote using double-back Gorilla tape. It has held for the past three weeks without any signs of letting loose. It's virtually un-noticeable, you have to purposely look there to see it. Practically as good as having the built in HomeLink buttons.
So why did Honda delete the Home Link ? It definitely was cool and a touch of luxury. XM another delete. All the car needed was memory seats to be complete.

Beats me, I had the same question. I had checked out the 2024 Civic and was waiting for the hybrid to come out so I was surprised to find Homelink wasn't there.

Bought this switch pack off Alibaba and wired it to one of my spare remotes. Of course there is no Up-Down function, either switch simply triggers the remote so they are redundant but I can press the appropriate one and pretend :) I also tapped the illumination wires into the ones that go to the traction control defeat switch. I've noticed that with the remote mounted under the dash the range is somewhat decreased. With the remote mounted behind the mirror I could open the door from the street but with this setup I need to be in the driveway. That's not really a problem so I'm happy with it. Switch was about $10 with shipping and it just snaps right in in place of the blank.

Can you please supply address for the switch. Manufacturers may be removing previously standard equipment in their quest to start subscription services, giving them a future stream of income.
