Thanks for pointing that out. It reminds me a lot of what G-Power is doing for BMW owners. Here's the process they require owners to go through, Hondata's will likely be similar to this:
G-Power Will Now Let You Tune Your BMW M or AMG GT From Home

-* connect your G-Power OBD cable to the ECU and download original ECU map
-* send that map to G-Power via e-mail
-* wait for the G-Power to create a new map and deliver it to you via e-mail
-* upload the new, updated map to the ECU and bam; your engine has more power
