Hey yall, im here looking for answers and help. My car recently has been driving sluggish, its almost running like a naturally aspirated engine instead of a turbocharged due to the loss of boost im currently dealing with. Car is only hitting 12psi on wot and it drops to around 5psi, so with no CEL or any types of light on the dash I decided to just scan the car if theres any codes and surprisingly the code “U0416-68” popped up so I did a little bit of researching and found out that it has something to do with the VSA/ABS module. Also tried clearing the code, took it for a drive, code came back and no progress on the boost. So per google

“When a critical VSA component fails or provides faulty data, the ECU may trigger a "limp mode" to protect the engine and transmission from potential damage. This mode typically limits engine output, including boost pressure”

im just here looking for answers, or if anybody dealt with the same thing, before I take it to the dealership

It looks like you’re on the right track with U0416-68. That code usually means “Invalid Data Received From VSA/ABS Control Module”. In other words, the ECU is getting bad data from the stability control system.

When that happens, the ECU doesn’t trust the sensor inputs, so it often forces a protective or limp mode. On a turbo Civic, that means:
  • Boost capped around 5 psi (what you’re seeing).
  • Throttle and power delivery softened.
  • Sometimes rev limits are altered.

Possible causes:
  • Faulty wheel speed sensor (common trigger).
  • ABS/VSA module itself failing.
  • Corroded connector, wiring damage, or poor ground.
  • Aftermarket wheel/tire sizes confusing the system.

What I’d do:
1. Scan for any related ABS/VSA codes besides U0416-68.
2. Check each wheel speed sensor (live data if you have access — look for one reading that drops out).
3. Inspect wiring/connectors around the ABS module under the hood.
4. If all sensors check out, the module itself may need replacement or reprogramming.

Unfortunately, until that fault is resolved, the ECU will keep pulling boost because it assumes traction control can’t do its job.

Yeah, since I dont know much about cars or have the right tools. I just made an appointment to the dealership. I did scan it some more tho and so far no codes have yet to pop up plus the car has been like this for almost 2 weeks, i know i couldve made an appointment right away but work has been restraining me to do so. Also i shouldve mentioned that the problem also occured right after I accidentally over-revved the engine but the P0219 code cleared and never came back. But the code U0416-68 has been an ongoing problem for mines. I appreciate you for taking the time to respond and give a breakdown. wish me luck!!!
