Ceramic coating price and if it is worth it

Was Quoted 1000$ for a 3 yr IGL Ceramic coat for my 22 Sport Touring hatch. My normal detailer who I like and trust says a good wax job once a year is fine.
Any thoughts and my Civic is primarily garaged.
