Hello,
New to the forum, thought I give it a try.... let me know if this has been sloved somewhere else.
I have a new 2024 Honda Civic... what nice because it is a new car but still feels very cheap in someways... anyways...
The auto idle stop is a pain in the ***, but I have found ways arounds for it. When disabling or enabling the auto idle stop, there is a message on the instrument pannel that says something like "Hold the idle stop button to disable or enable the status message". This would just prevent the message showing on the instrument pannel when enableing or disabling the auto idle stop "feature" (I like how its such a feature...NOT), and only show the little icon. When I disable the "status" message, it dose not seem to respect my preference... no matter what I do, the status message allways shows. It seemed to be working before, but now it just dosen't care. I have tried it when the car is in park... doesn't care, while im driving... doesn't care. This is a niche issue, but it is drving me crazy. In the manual (page 474) it clearly indicates that this should be a thing... but again it just doesn't care. I like the look of the car but feel as if I got swindled into buying a halfed baked product.
Does anyone have any insight on this issue to what could be done to make the status message stay disable?
Thanks and sorry for any spelling mistakes.
PS (not related to the problem above, but a rant)... anyone notice you can't scroll though you music libaray (CarPlay) with the secondary knob on the raido headunit? Acts only for skipping songs, even though there is a forrward or backwards button already on the steering wheel and the radio head unit. Pretty dissapointed with the electronics in this car. And to rant a bit more...you can't quickly scroll though the differnt "status" screens to see Range/Fuel, Tirp ect... you must use the "Home" button first, then look though all the different options first. And last one.. why does the raido shut off when I turn off the car and not when I open the door. Seems like that could of been an option that the user could choose to have this on or off. For **** sakes, it just software, personally, the Hyundai Elentra seems like the better deal with all the customization you can do, and for less money.. kinda wishing I went with the Hyundai.
