My Apple Car play partially works. I can say "Siri play the album Songs from the Big Chair" and it will load the album and I'll see the song, but it won't play the song. It only plays 1 secodn of the song (no audio) and stops. If I click the play button again, it just advances one second at a time.

I can play music using Alexa. I used to be able to play music on Apple Music. I also used to be able to play Sirius/XM stations on the Sirius/XM app in apple car play, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Other apple car play apps (such as Waze) work just fine. So it's just playing music that's a problem. It stopped working last week and I don't know why.

I have restarted my phone. I have tried reestablishing the bluetooth connection. I have tried connecting using a USB cable. Nothing is working.

I don't know if the problem is due to an iPhone OS upgrade, or if there's some other problem.

I wonder if anyone else has this problem and if anyone has suggestions for me. Thanks.

I do think this is apple car play because it doesn't matter if I am just playing an album from Apple Music or a song that's in my library. Also, the SiriusXM app is not working either (that is an app in the Apple CarPlay system). But Waze (also in Apple CarPlay) works fine.

And perhaps I didn't explain well: It isn't actually playing any of the song. It looks like it is starting (the play button turns into the pause button) and the elapsed time advances one second but then it changes back from a pause button to a play button, as if it played just one second of the song. If I click the play button on the screen it again advances just one second, but no music is played.

When you say Waze works, the sounds from Waze works? Seems like it's something with the software to play audio. I don't have the same car as you (I have the basic Honda entertainment system), but there is likely a factory reset you could try for the Touring Entertainment system. I would lean to imagine, though, that it's an issue with iOS since SiriusXM isn't working as well and the app is using iOS' audio software. Worst case scenario would be a wipe of your iPhone and setting it up as new to try and get that nasty bug out.
Waze works for navigation but the sound doesn't work any longer (it used to).

Also, on the display above the steering wheel, on the left side, it shows "no device connected" when I pick Apple Car Play from that menu. But it must be connected or else Waze wouldn't work at all, right? Also, I can get the Alexa app to work (It's NOT part of Apple CarPlay).
