Thanks for your reply. Yes, I was aware that even the max regen level doesn’t allow for one-pedal driving. What prompted my question was another reviewer saying that he found the max regen braking to be essentially negligible (my words). Obviously I’ll be assessing it for myself when I test drive the car.

Btw, I like your chosen Civic colors — grey exterior and interior. I expect that’s what I’d go for myself.
Best of luck to you!

I did a break-in oil change on my car today at about 1000 miles. There are a combination of 4 plastic quarter turn fasteners and 4 metal bolts that need to come out in order to slide the engine splash shield off to access the oil pan drain plug and the oil filter. The 4 metal bolts were torqued to about 100 ft lbs at the factory, as was the oil filter. A few choice words were spoken, but in the end everything yielded. The pan drained for something like 15 minutes in order to get most of the oil out. I have never seen a car take that long.

I put in an OEM filter and 4+ quarts of Mobil 1 full synthetic 0w-20w oil. I know that a break-in oil change is not required, but I sleep better doing this with all of my new cars.

out of curiosity, did you look into using Mobil 1's synethetic oil purposely formulated for hybrids? It seems that its better at capturing the water created from combustion.

No, I just used the regular Mobil 1. I live in hot and dry Arizona so I am not too concerned about water in the oil.

I have had three separate instances where my Powerflow app stopped working after being on for a while. It either does not update or it is just a black screen. Has anyone else seen this?

imo, they really should issue a software update on the regen breaking. have to click down multiple times EVERYTIME makes no sense, the car shouldn't forget your regen setting everytime you accelerate (it remembers it if you're in sport only)

Yes, it’s unfortunate that the regen setting is only held in Sport mode. Further, the selected drive mode isn’t retained (other than Eco) after shutting off the car and later restarting it. Same as at least one of the driving assist options. Have to disable it every time if you don’t want it active. A nuisance.

Has this continued to occur or has it been resolved?
It has not happened again, but I have not left the powerflow screen on for an extended period of time.

I had some issues with Google built-in and Android Auto fighting each other so I have disabled AA on the infotainment system settings for my phone. That caused all phone audio to stop working, so I rebooted both my phone and the infotainment system and the issue was resolved.

You can reboot the audio system. (9" display)
1. Press and hold the button for a certain period of time.
2. Select Reboot.

* If Safe Mode is selected, the audio system will be rebooted with third-party applications turned off.
After the power mode has been turned off once, third-party applications can be used again.

Regarding Google built in, it works quite well and you get 3 years of free AT&T wifi to enable it. That said:

"Google Built-In does not have a subscription cost. In order for users to have embedded Wi-Fi capabilities, they must sign up for a AT&T mobile data plan. Alternatively, users can use their mobile devices to tether data to their vehicle for Google Built-In.

For additional information regarding data plan costs, please visit AT&T
If you do not wish to subscribe for a data plan through AT&T, you can tether your compatible smart phone or mobile hotspot to the vehicle to provide data for Google Built-In. "
Thanks for all the informative posts. I just bought a 2025 Hybrid Hatchback Sport Touring and it’s been great so far. Do you know how much the subscription will be once the 3 years runs out? I asked the sales guy and he changed the subject. I don’t really plan on renewing it since I just use Android Auto from my phone.

For context, I’ve never owned a high horsepower vehicle with crazy 0-60 times. With that said the acceleration in Sport mode is fun. Even Normal has a little kick. The surprise is that acceleration in Econ mode is more than adequate. My other car is a 2013 Mazda CX-5 and the Civic has more get up and go in Econ. That’s not saying much because Mazda chose to maximize fuel economy over performance, but for a small car, Econ mode gives appropriate power.

I would equate clicking the regen paddles to when you see the brake lights on the car in front of you go on and you lightly touch your brakes to reduce your speed. I can definitely feel the car “hitting the brakes” so your body gently rocks forward when I click the pedal and the car does slow down, but I’m also not pressing the accelerator either.

I’ve only tried it out on the street. I haven’t used it on the highway.

Recently drove one myself. Definitely the first vehicle to make me consider trading in my current Civic. Everything I love about the current car, plus heated seats, a sunroof, and way more power. What's not to love?
