Are 11th gen Civics with the 2.0L prone to valve cover leaks?
Yes from what I understand due to the plastic valve cover. However you can switch to a cast aluminum valve cover aftermarket. I should mention that's not uncommon for engines today in this displacement. By 60,000 or 80,000 Mi you're going to need it anyway a must remove for lash adjustment on valve train. I suppose we shouldn't expect too much in today's market. They put profits before the customer value retention unfortunately. That doesn't just apply to Honda either but they have to be competitive. However the K series engine is a legend in its own right. So to me that's the best option upgrade it when it leaks.

Good to know thank you. In that case I'd likely buy an aftermarket to avoid having that issue again.

My 2022 civic lx 2.0 didn't have this issue. Just traded it in at 33k miles. I did all oil changes myself, and was very familiar with the engine bay (I'm a mechanic). Sucks to see and I would hope they correct this obvious manufacturer defect. Honda quality is clearly going down. They need to step it up. My 2022 had the steering rack replaced under warranty as it was sticking bad.
Did the sticking cause you to trade it in or were there other reasons?

It’s been a while! I apologize I forgot to post an update after repairs! I took my car to Honda to get serviced on the invoice it says that the “valve cover was torn and caused leaking”. They made the repair no issue free of charge and same for my moms 2.0. Since then everything’s been good. I’ll post pics later today!

Other reasons as well. I wanted the faster engine 1.5t. The leather in the EXL is super nice, plus heated seats. I sure paid a lot more for it though. I'm sure the 2.0 is more reliable long term. But I trade/buy/sell cars often.
