Is the turbo bigger in an Si compared to a normal 1.5 civic? I’ve read they are the exact same turbo on both cars.

Same turbo design, different engine. Si uses the L15CA, the other Civics have an L15B7.

Yep, I was asking the guy that said the Si had a larger turbo, thought maybe he knew a secret.

The design overall might be the same, they use the same 11 blade impeller, its possible the rest of the internals, including the wastegate may be different.

I forgot what they use in the 11th. gen. Civics but the sedan and Si had stronger rods than the Hatchback in the 10th.gen.
Definitely they kept the strong ones for the newer Si but can't remember what is in the other trims.
Probably the lighter rods were the reason fuel economy was better for my 2018 hatch then my 2023 Si, even though both were tuned.

The extent manufacturers need to go to add 20hp and warranty them to hold together makes me question our choices to add a 50hp Tunes to stock turbocharged engines.
