Your dealer's service department is inept and they are thieves. There is no way your ipass and dashcam will interfere with your cruse and no way the stealer should have even tried to charge you. You need to find another dealer. Please don't forget to let Honda Customer Service know about these weasels as well as posting on Google reviews etc.
Definitely will, already left them a review

Got a good laugh out of the dealer's response to the review I left the other day...

"We are sorry to hear that you weren't satisfied with your visit. I looked into the file and saw that the reason for your cruise control problem was most likely caused by the placement of your dashcam and IPASS near the cruise control. Some electronics can cause interference in others. Again, we apologize for the confusion, and are always here if you have any questions."

For more humor, ask them where the cruse control is so you can move your electronics.

Hey guys, just got my Civic a couple of months ago. It is an LX, so just base model. At any rate, I have been having some issues with the cruise control recently that I wanted to see if anyone else has come across yet. It happened to me today for the second time since I got the car. In both occurrences, I was just cruising at 75 on the freeway with nobody in front of me,. I was driving and for no reason the car cancelled cruise control on its own. No messages popped up except the symbol and "OFF" next to it, and I started slowing down. No different than turning it off manually or just pressing the brake pedal. I was not able to turn it back on again. When I would try to resume or set the speed again, I would get an error sound and the same message "OFF" next to the cruise symbol. Nothing else. It was dark out, and the humidity was high so I thought something might have just gotten on the front camera. I pulled over and found that it was clean, so got back in the car and it worked again, no other issues. That was about a month ago. Today, was again at 75 with no cars in front of me, good and clearly marked road, in broad daylight. Car canceled cruise for no reason again in the same way it did before. Could not re-engage, got same error sound and "OFF" message. This time I knew for sure there was nothing on the camera. I pulled over, put the car in park, then put it back in drive and started driving again. I could set the cruise control again and it worked for the rest of the drive. Another important thing to add is that I had the lane keep assist active on both occasions, and it never stopped working at all, still kept the lane without issue. I took a very short video when it happened again today, see the link:

I spoke to someone on the phone from the Honda Customer Care hotline just to make sure I wasn't missing anything. We went through the owner's manual together and agreed that it said nothing about this type of situation, and that it should never just cancel and refuse to re-engage until the vehicle is bought to a complete stop and put in park. He said that I should make an appointment to have it looked at. One thing that I have NOT tried is switching over to normal cruise control mode via holding the interval button when this whole thing is happening.

Called local dealer, they want $145 just to look at it. It has 3k miles and it is a leased vehicle, so I'm not really sure why I have to pay. I actually don't know if this is the norm or not as this is the first brand new vehicle that I have leased from any dealership, so on a side note I would like to hear your opinions on that too.

Just looking to see if anyone has had a similar issue and could provide some guidance.
I have a 2022 Civic Touring and you described my issue with the cruise control exactly. It happens with the adaptive cruise enabled or not enabled. I also noticed that the auto dimming
high beams stop working when this occurs. I'm also going video it on my phone so I can show service folks at Honda. I'll send this link to them so they can see that I'm not alone in this.
Gotta believe this is a software bug.

Mine happened with ACC. Haven't had opportunity to drive/cruise without the ACC. Called dealer and talked with service manager. He basically said to expect it to happen under certain conditions with the ACC. He also says just stop and shut it off and it will reset. So this sounds kind funky if you ask me. Going down I-70 and need to stop here and there to reset ACC? Really?

Try it without ACC, let it happened again then inform the service manager and wait for his new answer. I'm afraid this is going to be a long grind with Honda to resolve this.

Yes this is a problem. Almost ready for my 15,000 service next weekend. Has happened several times (probably 10 at least) with and without lane assist, traffic, or humid windows. I think the camera system is just shit. I have said nothing to the dealer as of yet. It is very random and annoying as well. I have even had to turn the car off to get it to let me set it again. You may be right however and all I needed to do was put in in park and try again. At that point I may as well cycle the ignition and reset everything was my thought process. I have had the car brake for no reason at all also, and when on a two-lane highway in the dark with on-coming headlights. I understand these systems are far from perfect but I would worry about an inexperienced driver. The lane keep assist will try to run you into walls and all kinds of things also Other than this I have few complaints about this car.
It has to be an issue with the camera system. I wanted to share that it happens to me in the exact same spot on the same highway every time I go by this one particular sign in my 2022 Sport model. The camera is seeing something that screws it up. There should be a recall for this.

Since you have a repeatable event (unlike others who have posted) you should record the event and present the findings to your dealer and Honda. They can't issue a recall if they don't know a problem exists. Oh yeah, post the video here too.
Just guessing, but I suspect some sort of software/code issue between the camera and the Honda Sensing is causing the shutdown.

That sounds very plausible. I will try to do that! The crazy thing is the first time it happened at that spot I didn’t have time to stop to kill the ignition and start back up so I just kept going, I tried switching from regular to ACC and playing around but nothing, then an hour or so later it started working again. Weird. So glad I’m not alone on this. Thanks everyone!

Many service departments are now charging to look at cars under warranty. They do this to prevent paranoid/ocd owners from wasting the service advisor/technicians time. For example, someone may make a complaint bc they have a few screws loose in their head and there’s nothing wrong with the vehicle in the first place. After you paid your $145 and the dealer was able to confirm your issue, the money is refunded to you and warranty will cover your work. They do not keep the $145 unless the owner has a few screws loose and makes a complaint that isn’t ordinary. A rather odd cruise control issue where there is no TSB atm is once of those complaints, not saying you do not have a issue.

Mine started working about an hour later, give or take, also. Without stopping the car.

I just bought my 2022 Honda Civic Sport about a month ago and the same thing is happening to my car. As I’m driving the cruise control just shuts down and won’t reengage. I call salesman and he told me to bring it into have service look at it. They told me they would need to see it happen to figure it out. It is very random and never know when it will happen. Let me know if they found the issue. Jim
