Back when I bought my 2013 LX, I used the Eco mode and actually got worse gas mileage when it was on, vs off. I didn't change the way or routes I was driving, I had just turned the Eco button on. I haven't bothered to retry it with my 2017 or 2022 Civics.

Interesting. I‘m still breaking in my car. I haven’t used ECO or Sport yet. I’ve only used normal mode. Last check I was averaging 35MPG.

Not sure if there’s any correlation.

Any updates @Cantthkofone? Are still having the same issues with the locking or starting the engine?
Actually yes! Happened yesterday and today and also for no reason at a red light got a couple new random errors that persisted all day yesterday, but were gone today:

so I snagged a couple videos of it not starting. Maybe it’s me? But I’m performing the same actions every time and it’s an intermittent issue - close door, put seatbelt on, firmly press brake, press engine ignition button.
It’s not allowing me to upload the videos of the failures, so here’s the message I get while my foot is on brake and I’m pressing ignition button.

Post it to YouTube and then link it here.

Hello!
So this week, a handful of times, I got into the car, placed fob in console, put seatbelt on, pressed brake and ignition start button, but it wouldn’t crank. I tried two or three times and was getting a handful of error lights on the dash (don’t ask me to tell you which lol) and also illuminated display saying to press brake and press ignition button - which as I said, I was doing. It took four or five attempts and I’d finally get it started up. Nothing was any different than any other start up.

Also, again - a handful of times this week, when locking the car from the door panel and closing my door - while walking away from the car, I was getting beeped at by he car, like… annoyingly so - as in other people looked at me like I was a dummy that didn’t know how to lock my car properly. In those instances, I hit the lock button on the fob a few times until it would ultimately cut it out.

I’ve got the sport trim and just passed 500 miles.

Anyone else have any similar issues? I’m really hoping these are not first-year rollout issues - I don’t want to regret this purchase!

Side note, I’ve still not surpassed 28 mpg - even on lengthy highway travel, or straightforward city driving sans AC and in Econ mode. I’m so bummed - I anticipated at least hitting 30 mpgs minimum, as my ‘12 Civic I came from would push nearly 40, out the door from the dealership and the entirety of the decade that I owned it.
Same here for brake not releasing after starting car. Dealer rep suggested "driver malfunction." Sorry this also happened to you.

I did snap that photo one of the last times, but neglected to catch the right side display with errors. Thanks for the reply!
When you see this...do what it says.
The trick? Wait 3-5 seconds before doing so.
I used to have the exact same issue...waiting a few seconds has worked for me 100%.

Good luck, I know it's frustrating.

Im chiming in here. My mother in law just received their 2023 LX a month or so ago and is having this problem with the start engine button. Says multiple times it has failed to start until the 5th or 6th time pressing the button. She is a senior so automatically I thought user error, but if others are having similar issues....
