Wiring first sub - A few questions about auto start/stop and wiring

Working on my first install and I have a few rookie questions. I am installing this 10" Kicker sub with a Kicker Key amp in my EX-L.

Does anyone know if auto start/stop is a problem for amps in this car? Or did Honda take care of that with a capacitor or something? Just curious if I absolutely need an amp that is compatible with auto start/stop, because I see most people on here don’t seem to.

With wiring, I'm following this thread and I have the power and ground cables installed. In anemicFrogBoi's thread he tapped signal wires A15-A18.

A15 and A16 are both "Outputs sound signal for driver's door speaker and left front tweeter" while A 17 and A18 are the same for the passenger door.

Do I need to tap into both signal wires, or only one per side?
ex: left amp signal wire tapped into A15 and A16?

Also, is there a need for a remote wire with this amp? And are there ANC mics to disable on the EX-L model?

Thanks!

The easiest thing to do is to grab both (+) signals and use that for your (+) input on the amp and then do the same for (-). So yes, tap A15-A18.

The Kicker Key amps do have auto turn on function, so no need for a remote wire.

Don't know about any ANC mics, not sure why you would need to disable them if there are. Are you concerned about ANC cutting the signal to your new sub?

Thanks. I was able to tap into those and got it working.

As for ANC, I don’t get the sense that it’s an issue for me.

Also, I edited my post to add this question. Let me know if you have any insight:

Auto start/stop will have no impact on the amp. When the engine stops, there is still power to the stereo, AC, acc, etc. so your amp should not turn off.

Do you have any idea why Kicker and other manufacturers include this as a feature?

From what I’ve read, the issue is when the car starts back up again because the voltage drops below the amp’s threshold and it can cause the amp turns off to protect itself.

No clue. Might be on older stop/start systems or depend on how you have your power and remote signal setup. I have not had any issues with the civic (or any other car) stop/start causing the amp to shut down.
