2022 civic touring. Carplay wireless works, but sometimes it becomes janky and then the screen goes funky upon startup… I was able to mitigate a bit by adjusting the wifi connection that the car uses to connect to phone for CarPlay after bluetooth handshake (it was on low data mode).

Wondering if anyone has any ideas on a fix, picture attached to show the funky.

One theory I have is the car forgets to use wifi and continues on bluetooth and overloads it with data…

So, I found a work around... you just have to not bug it while it's starting up. Let it sit in the main menu for a bit, test it every five seconds or so until the app opening is smooth. If you boot it up right into the maps and have navigation running it overwhelms the system.

I have the 2022 Honda Civic Si, and was really interested in it for the wireless CarPlay. What I have found, is that by Honda making the American Si an LX, sunroof car without wireless charging, I can't use the wireless option for a drive over an hour and a half, as it kills the battery on my phone. It gets really hot, as well, so ironically, I have to plug in my phone for charging, so it's not nearly dead after my hour commute each way daily. It's truly a useless option without wireless charging, unless you only do short trips. Another inconvenience with wireless CarPlay is it uses WiFi, and so does my dash cam, so it's one or the other. Currently Honda doesn't have the wireless charging in the accessory catalog. Probably due to the supply shortages across the board.
