When looking to buy a Honda Civic, what common problems should we aware of? With previous Civic models I heard there were issues with the fuel pump, oil dilution (1.5L engine), wheel bearings, brake hold, and many others. How true has this been for everyone here?
Well I have some bad news. .... My brand new 2022 civic touring has a rattle.
It drove me nuts for two days trying to find it.
I prevailed and also in the process felt a little bit like an idiot?
It was the Sunvisor . It wasn’t latched in position, what a bonehead but I figured it out now my new car is perfect🤣. Now if this is the only problem I ever have with this car my world will be perfect what are the chances of that. Good luck to all you new Honda Civic owners enjoy. 👍

My 22 Sport has a window molding defects between the door trim and glass window. You can see it is a very thin piece of rubber that wasn’t well aligned by manufacturing. The door trim looks like it has an extra bump. It’s covered by warranty but lack of parts means a lengthy wait for replacement to come in.
Could you provide a picture?

The ridges are the misaligned part. This was after the service tech pushed it in as much as possible so the window could go down without catching.

Did you try reaching out to Honda customer support to see what they would say/do?
How about the rest of your Civic? Noticed any other build quality concerns?

Honda is covering the fix under warranty. So far no other issues. Build quality seems pretty sturdy so far. Time will tell if the “leather” accents on the seat will hold.

My Siri button my brand new 2022 Touring can’t initiate to make calls, send text messages or ask for directions, etc. did a hard reset on my iPhone, factory reinstall of console software helped by in car support and also reset network settings on my iPhone. If someone sends me a text I can reply via Siri I just can’t initiate anything and I’m frustrated! My 2020 EX-L was so simple.

I bought and left for vacation the next day so no, I haven’t gone home to the dealer. In car support has done everything they said they could do: factory reset, hard reset on iPhone and reset network settings on iPhone. I did drive to a dealer where I’m vacationing but they has no appointments and I would have to leave the car. I’m on vacation alone.

Have you tired or had luck finding different ways to activate Siri? Like changing the sequence or process of what you do to pair your phone? That might work. I hear it did for owner of the last generation model but it was more on the phone side of things rather than the car.

I have paired, disconnected and paired numerous time. The strange part about it is that I can get an incoming text and use the button on the steering wheel and reply. I just can't initiate a call, text, or activate it for directions, weather etc which I really really needed on vacation in a city I've never been to.

Is CarPlay enabled and active (in that you can access it from the infotainment system)? What happens when you press and hold the voice button on the steering wheel?

CarPlay is active and enabled, I can play music and receive text messages. What happens when I press it? - NOTHING. I can roll it to scroll to different options and I’ve tried them all.

When I get home and that wont be until Sunday 7/18. I specifically wanted to pick it up a few days before leaving specifically to make sure I felt comfortable driving in it as well as the new features, but I got the body side molding so there was a day delay.
this is my first vacation in 2.5 years due to Covid and prior due to a death in the family-I really needed to get away. Unfortunately I run a mobile computer repair business traveling to businesses and homes, and I really need this feature to work. My guess is it’s a software Bug.
