I am wondering if Honda is only manufacturing the higher profit models.
I ordered an LX in grey. This is the cheapest Civic available and would have the lowest profit margin of any Honda available in Canada.

I have been waiting 5 months and have heard nothing back from the Dealer. Anybody else waiting more than 5 months for an LX ?

Hi all,

I have been a long visitor of this forum but never posted anything...it is about time I share my experience and my two cents.

I ordered 2023 Civic Touring 4DR Sedan (Meteorite Grey) near the end Aug 2022 at GTA dealership. I was promised to get the car in 3 months but it was delayed and finally got it after 5 months at the end of Jan 2023. I was constantly in touch with my sales rep and followed up every 2 weeks on the ETA. Few things I feel factors in how they prioritize your car...1) Dealership - if you ordered from high volume dealership in GTA the chances are you'll get the car quicker than from a dealership in a small town in Ontario or other province. I was told Honda will give preference to dealerships that move a lot of cars (new/used). 2) Financing - This is based on my experience...when you put the deposit and they prepare your initial payment plan if you agree to put on high down-payment (i.e. 30% or more), your business might not be as lucrative as someone who is putting less or zero down since they will make more $ through interest on financed amount. 3) Warranty/Add-ons - Similar to above if you did not purchase any extended warranty or additional packages but next person in the line did they might give the preference to the other guy since they will make more money on the add-ons. Again, these are some of the things I have heard and experienced and can't be said with full certainty. Regardless, I would recommend staying in touch with your dealer and most importantly ask them for the order ID or whatever they have on their file showing your number in line. At least you have that information if you ever need to escalate with Honda directly to see if the dealer screwed you and gave your car to the next guy in line for slightly more money. Hope you guys get your cars soon! 🤞

I went to the dealership yesterday! The manager said wait 3 more months and you still may not get any date. It will be around 1 year wait plus no guarantee.
Its winnipeg crown honda. So if anyone wants to buy a civic touring in black wait for a year
I bought a blue 2023 civic touring from winnipeg crown honda July 2022. They still havent told me anything and constantly blame Honda for not giving them any updates.

I do not know where the cars for Canada are made. If its Japan I do no that they have stopped producing the lower spec car for the the foreseeable future. It is due to microchip shortages and someone told me they are having problems with corrosion with the throttle body housing and they are just stockpiling the cars at the moment until the issue is solved. Below is taken from Honda Japan website. It does not mention anything about the throttle body housing issue though, So I am not 100% sure that is fact.
