I am trying to remove the O2 sensor so that I can free up the heat shield in order to install my turbo blanket, but I am applying well over 35ft-lb of torque counter-clockwise and the dang O2 sensor won’t budge. Am I doing something wrong? Is it not counter-clockwise to loosen the O2 sensor? The car has only about 1,080 miles on it, so highly unlikely it’s rusted in place or something.

Counterclockwise from looking at the front and not from behind - right? Spray a dab of liquid wrench and try again when engine is cold.
Correct, from in front of the car. I am picking up a longer-handled ratchet later today, as well as a rigid extension instead of the wobble type I am trying to use now. Hoping the better leverage and more stable connection will do it.

Okay everybody, got it done. Used a longer handle ratchet, a rigid extension, and did it while the car was still hot. Was super easy. Now to get the blanket on once it cools down.
