You know, I would actually buy that trim, and upgrade with aftermarket myself.

Even the top trim infotainment is basic compared to aftermarket infotainment.

Feels nostalgic seeing that basic of an infotainment. A part of me almost yearns for that; sometimes having a screen constantly around me can be a bit dizzying. I find myself opting for the Civic's bluetooth functionality over CarPlay just for the feeling of a more slimmed-down infotainment experience.

Nothing to do with the touchscreen, but I've always disliked the elevated division between the driver's and passenger's side. Looks so out of place to me.

It's a little nostalgic but it kinda feels like a slap in the face to the buyer. But I'm no genius with other countries laws on that.

That looks really cheap. However cars are VERY expensive in a lot of these developing countries, so to have a car at all is already a huge deal. I’m sure this helps make them more affordable

In the US new cars are required to have back up cameras, so it makes sense to just throw in a touchscreen radio. In other markets the regulations aren't as strict and can get away with bare bones models like this.

The main thing I hate about it is that they didn't change the dashboard to match the lack of a screen - there's just a swath of hard black plastic in the middle, with what appears to be a giant LCD clock? Does it flash 12:00 or 00:00 too, when the battery gets pulled?

When cars didn't used to have screens set in the middle or on top, things looked much smaller and simpler, the clock would just be a little display, possibly analog.

I didn't have a car with a backup camera until 2019... When I bought a used 2016 Civic. LOL.
