Hey all, I don't get my Si until the coming week (just in time for Christmas) , I don't have my owner manual yet of course. Is the minimum octane 91 on these cars ? My last 1.5 l turbo Civic ran on 87 Octane but I see premium fuel is needed for the Si. I would be happy if I could run 89, but if 91 is the required fuel then I will run it. Thanks for any replies.

You're paying alot of money to get the Si model over the base model. Please dont cheap out on the gas you put in and only put premium. Dont buy an Si if you want base model civic expenses and performance.

Yeah I get that, but there are going to be many instances where I burn through fuel without ever needing 91 Octane , cruising for 4 hours at 2700 rpms with zero boost just won't stress the motor out any any manner. If I was getting a fuel economy boost or a performance boost I would run 91, I think my circumstances are different than most in how I use my car, doing the same trip about 5 times a month, then I can run 91 when I'm back to driving with boost.

Personally, in my humble opinion, if saving those few extra dollars by lowering your fuel octane rating is that important to you, you bought the wrong car. No offense.
