There is a way, its just hella annoying access it.

1 Hold home+power+previous
2 Tap detailed information and settings
3 Hold back+power+previous
4 Tap system reboot

I find this can help with laggyness.

does it also erase radio presets?
No. It's just a reboot, not a factory reset

Awesome find!
I wish I knew where stuff like this was documented!!
Was wondering how to do that, thanks for the tip!

So I finally gave these steps a try… Two thumbs up!

First, because I was trying this without actually needing to do so (i.e., my wireless CarPlay was working just fine), ironically I was unable to get step #1 to work at first. I had to stop playback via wireless CarPlay and be on the home screen. I assume if I were having problems with CarPlay, this would just happen naturally.

But once I did that, with the engine running and the car parked (with the parking brake engaged, if that matters), holding Home + Power (pushing in the Audio/Vol knob) and “Previous” (the “rewind” button on the lower left under it) for a few seconds yielded a beep, and then this screen:

Font Sky Gadget Tree Display device

Selecting the last option, “Detailed Information & Setting”, got me this screen that didn’t mention anything useful:

Font Gadget Gas Audio equipment Electronic device

But then, in a “hidden menu of the hidden menu” trick, holding down Back + Power + Previous (instead of Home + Power + Previous) for a few seconds got another “beep” and this screen:

Tree Gadget Rectangle Font Gas

Selecting “system reboot” rebooted the infotainment system without losing any other settings, and without having to shut off my engine.

I assume that had I lost my CarPlay connection that this would have resolved it.

Brilliant! Tried this today after losing my CarPlay for the first time in months. Worked perfectly. Thank you MrPP!

Thank you so much for posting this! Every few months (probably 5 or 6 times) when I start my car Android Auto wireless flat out won't connect. The only way previously I had found to remedy the issue was to reset it and setup all my preferences again. Happened today and a reboot fixed it. (y)

So does parking the car and then starting it again later after a long enough rest to have the car really shut down (versus some kind of sleep mode).

But the soft reset only takes a minute and you can get it working for the drive you're already doing.

Wut?
When my wireless CarPlay connection gets dropped, and this was even before I found this soft reset hidden menu trick, I would just "live with it" for the drive I was doing and I noticed it would be back the next time (usually - sometimes it took two overnight or over dinner parkings).

Just parking to run into the supermarket wasn't long enough, but a 90 minute to 2 hour dinner at a restaurant was.

Sorry man, was super drunk and I don't know why I looked at this forum lol. I've noticed something similar. I thinks it's more about the system running out of memory then rebooting itself. Feels like it gets laggy over time.
