The tune still isn't officially out, but Ososik Media got the keys to Hondata's 2022 Civic Touring to see what the added power feels like!
So long as it’s in the eco drive setting the car should be no different, Hondata tune kicks in when you switch to it, presumablyAs someone completely new to ECU tuning, his take on Hondata's 2022 Civic almost has me sold, especially with mentions of it being "way more responsive" and even points on how great it is for the average person. But does anyone know how much of a hit to fuel economy we can expect?
That's a good question. It'll probably take time to tell but I would hope it really only takes a hit when you're really driving hard.
My guess would be about 10%. And that's a decent trade off.
I also like that Hondata has been doing this for a long time and there are no threads about engines breaking down prematurely. Look at those turbo BMWs... the aftermarket tuning for them had brutal results.
I'm really curious to see what an Si with Hondata can do!
I guess whatever drop off in fuel economy we experience will be worth while. Does anyone know if we can still use regular octane gasoline or would premium be recommended at times to unleash more power with this tune, if that's a thing? So long as it’s in the eco drive setting the car should be no different, Hondata tune kicks in when you switch to it, presumably
