It is a baffle to keep the car more quiet. It is not required for the car to run, though you will want to plug the hole or you will be unable to build boost. PRL sells a kit to plug the hole, if you cannot find the OEM baffle and hose.

No I don't believe that will work. You want something like in the link I am providing below. The plug you need for what is in your first post is the black cap. Below is a picture showing it installed. The silver plug is for the baffle up near the filter. I'll include a picture of that baffle below as well.

Normally you just get a bit more intake noise. In his case, it’s a cheaper alternative than replacing the OEM baffle and since the plug kit comes with both plugs, he might as well install both of them.

All the plugs do is cover the holes left when you remove the baffles. The one you are currently missing will prevent the car from building boost resulting in low engine power and throwing engine codes

The only alternative to replacing the factory part would be to find a cap to cover the opening. I'm not sure if they ship to your country but PRL makes the part you need
