FK8 is faster by a a tenth of a second than the FL5. In the 0-60 both FL5 and FK8 Type Rs get the same time.

Data for fl5 just added to FastlapsWebsite 2 hours ago by caranddriver:
●Fl5 is slower to 1/4 mile than both normal fk8 and fk8 le:
●Fl5 is slower to 60 than fk8 le and equal to normal fk8

will people ignore lap times if the FL5 turns out to be consistently faster with more testing, we have already seen that the car is quicker on track during limited testing and may be better suited to the track due to cooling upgrades.

Agreed.

These tests also cover a small fraction of what both cars could do. Overall, given the opportunity, most people will go for the FL5. FK8 is still great but how can you turn down the shiny new toy?

But at the same time it could be said a used FK8 might be better bang for your buck, if you don't mind missing out on the latest tech.
