I was not too impressed with OEM wireless phone charging tray. Phone would sometimes stop charging if it moved about and whole tray was dedicated just for phone as other items could interfere with charging.
I 3D printed my own mount for Quadlock wireless phone charger and with help of doublesided adhesive stuck it in the tray. Phone position was perfect but the issue was that phone was overheating. I could have placed my phone mount next to the ventilation, but don’t like my phone in the middle of dashboard obstrucing things.
I decided do some more DIY and ordered myself a center console tray without wireless charging, just a plastic piece from a lower trim model. I made some holes in the new tray and 3D printed new mount for Quadlock charger with ventilation holes. Original plan was to hook into existing ventilation shafts and redirect part of their flow towards my new mount, but for now decided against it and just added a PC fan under the tray to move air around to see how this setup works and upgrade as necessary.
