Anyone know if the USA made civics have all SAE or metric bolts? I bought a flex head wratcheting wrench set so I have all the tools I need for minor maintenance and mods on my 23 civic hatchback. Figured it’s time to get proper tools for my collection.

I ordered a 13 piece SAE set (5-16th to 1 inch). There is a bolt I want to use as a ground under the driver dash board (looks like a bolt anchoring the dash down to the frame), but none of my new SAE wrenches fit them. I have some smaller and some bigger. So wondering if I need to return this set for a Metric, or if I’m just missing some intermediate sizes. This car has gotten me interested in the world of mechanics but I have much to learn!

Having just finished brakes, rotors, and, most unwelcome, front calipers on my older Civic I'd say - if you plan to work on the car buy quality sockets.

Yikes. I saw this right after getting back from Harbor Freight lol. I went with a cheap minimalist set for now since I live in an apartment.

The Duratech brand wrench set I bought off Amazon actually felt really nice. Excellent smooth finish and dense hefty feeling metal, the flex head mechanism had tight tolerances. A 13 piece was something like $65, I didn’t do any heavy work with them but they seemed like a great deal for the quality.

Were you using a 1/4 inch drive socket with an adapter on a 3/8th drive ratchet ? I've seen that happen before when using a smaller drive socket and adapters on bolts that are a tad tight or rusted. Cheap tools will do that too either way.
