Anyone miffed that Honda can't make use a decent camera for backup? I've had a '16 EX-L, 19 Sport Hatch and now '22 Sport Touring Hatch and I swear it is the same poor camera visual quality. Seems ever more important with large headrests and smaller area rear windows. Just saying they shouldn't have cut corners there to save a few bucks.

Seems perfectly adequate to me. Especially being wide angle so you can see cars coming if you have cars blocking your view as backing up.

Yes it's not great, it's a solid 4/10 compared to what's available out there. I've seen better quality backup cameras on 2016 rental cars

I just got a 2019 Honda CR-V and the Civic Si camera is worlds ahead and better, huge difference , much more clear by a long shot, so I ain't complaining.

It wouldn't surprise me if the SI probably had a better quality camera, like speakers, Honda standard vs. Bose. To think my 2016 EX-L had an oem right side mirror camera. That was so cool. It also had heated rear seats! Honda sometimes overachieves and sometimes misses. Here's a miss... US 2022 civic sport model with no turbo. How sporty is that?

I always liked the passenger side mirror camera, my CR-V has it and it is very effective, but not great quality of picture , it does good enough.

It is pretty crappy, but I just need to see if there are cars or people behind me when I’m backing out, I don’t need to be able to read the fine print in their tshirts, so it’s fine

Obviously, be sure to clean your lens once a week or so. Takes about 10 seconds, but get much better video.

I really don't understand the complaints about this. It works totally fine and provides a good view of what is behind you. Why does it matter if the view is HD quality? Who cares.

I changed the view on mine. So, while the video may be smaller now, it's more detailed.

Compared to my 2018 CRV, this camera is way better. Only issue is remembering to keep it clean when snow melts 😎
