Mine have not been on so I was thinking it was normal but after looking more it is not normal and now I am wondering if there is a way to turn them off or is there actually something wrong with them? These are the lights for the direction of the air flow, rear defroster, air circulation.

I have had the car for 3 days and yes I will take it back to the dealer but I wanted to make sure I am not missing something.

I know there is the dash light brightness knob on the left but that is all the way up.

I am sure I will be taking it back to the dealer already next week :(

Something definitely sounds wrong. The whole row of buttons is backlit on my car (Touring Trim). That includes the Recirculate Button, Mode Button, Front Defrost, Rear/side mirror Defrost, and A/C Buttons.

The backlight for all of them turns on when I turn my Parking lights or Headlights on.

Not sure if you have the Dual or Single Zone Climate Control System. But I would imagine the Single Zone System is the same. With all the buttons being backlit.

Can’t really think of anything you’re missing. If the brightness is turned all the way up. They should be working.

Hope everything works out.

Thanks for the reply.
Something is wrong. Sucks they will take apart the dash already to fix this issue.

Approval for what, I wonder? Does that indicate it's a particularly costly fix? Guess I'll be scheduling service to have it looked at. Was going to wait until my window tint appointment but will probably go sooner now that you've gotten confirmation.

Thanks for the update!

The issue is a missing 30 amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood. If you have the issue with the backlit controls, before you have your dealer replace anything on your brand new car, make sure fuse number 37 is not missing. If it is, there is a spare on the underside of the engine fuse box cover. For whatever reason fuse 37 is incorrectly labeled as a "Backup" and it is not inserted during the PDI.

I missed this post earlier in the thread

So BACKUP2 is a misprint/typo, and is why QA checks skip over it being missing?

Incredible!

So the dealer said the harness did not fix it. They called Honda then today I get a message saying it’s fixed. I asked what the final fix was and they said the harness.

Seems a little weird that yesterday it didn’t and today it did. I feel like they are lying and it was probably the fuse that was mislabeled or whatever.

Will be picking up my car this afternoon.

But they are ordering a new carpet because the back passenger side is messed up and can’t be fixed. I will take a picture after I get it.

So they are saying it’s a known issue, fuse, harness or something with the computer.

They didn’t mount the rear view mirror. So it was just hanging inside the plastic case and they scratched a panel and my leather on the steering wheel.

They are fixing the mirror now and a panel on order. Not sure what they will do about the steering wheel

Years ago I had an Acura dealer break the plastic surround around the bottom of the drivers seat. This was after they had the car for over a week. I emailed the service manager and sent him the pictures showing what the tech did. I lived around 100 miles from the dealer so they came a picked the car up, dropped off a loaner, and brought my car back with a brand new seat the next day.

I am starting to believe that I have been lied to on what the fix was for my car. At some point I will get contacted by Honda about all this and that is one thing I will bring up. If it’s true then all my headache could have been avoided by replacing a simple fuse that was miss labeled and not installed. No I have weeks worth of BS to get through and a damaged vehicle.

I will probably never know for sure but it does seem like one is missing.

The 2 different boxes have a different fuse in one spot. Mine has a 15a and his has a 30a where a 15a should be according to the diagram.

The spare fuse slots I am missing a 15a and he is missing a 30a
