Is there any way to "hack" the software to make full regen stick while in normal or eco mode? I want to be able to stay in full regen mode without switching to sport mode. Sport mode drops MPG dramatically...

What about disabling the fake shifting? It just makes the car slower.

Both questions/suggestions are Really great! Send a note to Honda maybe they would consider it as all that is software controlled.
At least cruise control stays on after turning car off (as I know) so you just have to set up speed.

I don't think Honda wants you to do that. They figured out that it's more efficient to coast most of the time rather than accelerate/decelerate. The generator is capturing energy, but it's not 100% efficient, so you're losing more mpg from the loss of momentum than you are gaining from the regen. And when you use the brake pedal, you can see on the gauge that it's doing the same thing that the paddle does. Using the paddles only really makes sense if you are on a long downhill stretch, and I think that's why it automatically resets when you stop. I haven't heard of any way to "hack" that (or anything else in the software, for that matter).

The fake shifting is silly and annoying, though.

This is the one thing I'd change. Make the regen stronger so you the paddles had more ability to slow the car to a near stop, or, make a "one-pedal" mode like a bumper car where you don't really need to use the brakes. My driving is in city/suburban areas so this would all be more engaging (in lieu of a conventional manual transmission).

In SPORT mode the car will maintain the regen level set. If you have the full five bars it does mimic driving in a lower gear with a manual transmission. I don't see any need for a "one pedal driving" mode unless you're just extremely lazy.

Oh, us lead foots hear it all the time. Even in Econ mode. Helped sell me on the car. Like a driving video game that snaps you back in the seat w/real G’s. Fun! Don’t think people realize this car can keep up w/a GTI (almost)!

Maybe Ktuner has some plans for the hybrid. I wouldn't be surprised.

No doubt the k20c9 has some power to be uncorked.

I just had a Peugeot 2008 rental for 3 days. 3-cyl turbo, 6-speed. Very good power and road manners. It also reminded me that our cars are still quite noisey.
