Now that I've had my car just under a month, figured it was about time for me to formally introduce myself/the car to the forum. Very long story short, I sold my 2021 BMW M340i in November of 2021 back to the BMW dealership I had leased it from. Reason I did this was because I was starting a business (that I've since closed down) and wanted to save some money on a car payment. I regret getting rid of the car, as it was the perfect daily driver and I had ended up scoring it for nearly $10k under MSRP right at the beginning of COVID when dealers couldn't find people to buy cars. Made about $5k on it when I sold it back due to the nature of the market, which was nice, but still sucked getting rid of it. Drove some older, used vehicles for the next year or so but once I decided to close down the business and work my day job full time, we had some extra money and so I decided to start searching for my next daily driver.

After lots of back and forth, I settled on a new Civic Si. As a longtime BMW enthusiast, this actually wouldn't be my first foray into Honda. I've own several, including my first new car purchase, a 2007 Civic Si sedan in Galaxy Grey Metallic:

I also leased a 2018 Accord Sport in Still Night Pearl for a short while before leasing the M340i:

Due to the scarcity of this specific color (the only color I was interested in) and the markups many dealers were charging, I had to shop around quite a bit and call MANY dealerships. The Honda dealer near me was marking up the Si $10k. And as I'm sure many of you know, many dealers were marking up the Si either $5k or $10, which I refused to pay.

After a few weeks (in mid-November), I ended up finding a dealership in PA who was only marking up the vehicle $3500, and was expecting an Aegean Blue Si in mid-December. It ended up arriving on 12/12/22...photos from my salesman:

Fast forward a bit and as luck would have it, I was SUPPOSED to fly out 12/20/22 to drive the car back home, but ended up getting COVID just 4 days prior. And to say it kicked my ass would be an understatement. I was bedridden for basically 3 days. So we (my buddy with the E93 M3 tagged along for the road trip) pushed back our flight to 12/27/22.

Rather than drive straight through from PA to MA, we wanted to make a bit of a road trip out of it, so I had made a list of restaurants and breweries along our route to stop at. This was a cool spot with a great name, Bolero Snort in NJ:

To recap the trip, I woke up at 3am on the 27th of December, and pulled into my driveway at around 9:30pm that night with the car. LONG day, but well worth it. And scored just under 39mpg, to boot.

Had some unseasonably warm days at the end of last week, so I took the time to get the car dialed in and protected for winter:

So the engine bay on the Si was a bit too naked for me. I added these plastic surrounds, as well as the boy racer engine cover (still not sure how I feel about this):

BEFORE

AFTER

I've also upgraded the license plate lights, trunk light and rear blinkers to the LASFIT LED bulbs. And still have the RedLine Tuning hood shocks to install, as well as an eBay gloss black front lip. Not sure I love it, but it was so cheap, I figured it was worth a shot. Worst case, I remove it and try something else.

Cheers!

Great story and the best color. Was your M340 Portimao Blue? I've been thinking about picking one up to replace our Macan S.
Thanks! Indeed it was. And it was truly the PERFECT daily driver for me, so I'd highly recommend it to you. And the LCI ('23+) updates to the G20 actually made the car even more attractive, in my eyes.

Oddly enough, my last 5 vehicles have all been blue (I'm a sucker for it!), 2013 Ford Raptor, 2018 Honda Accord, 2021 BMW M340i, 2009 BMW 328xi touring, 2023 Civic Si. Here are some photos of the M340i:

Amazing write up and welcome! What are your thoughts on the new Si?
Hey, thank you! I'm really enjoying it, so far. In some ways, feels a lot like my 2007 Si, but very different in other ways. The one thing I'm having trouble adjusting to is just how light the clutch is. My weekend car is an E46 M3 and man, the clutch on the Si catches so high and is so light, it's going to be an adjustment for me when I go back and forth between the 2 cars in the spring/summer months. Oh well, first world problems, I suppose.

Also a long time BMW enthusiast and Aegean Blue Si/E46 M3 owner. I've never owned a Honda but liked the look of the 11th gen. A friend said he drove an Si and that it felt really connected. I couldn't lock down a test drive and had a REAL hard time getting one for sticker (and in blue). I finally did, and I honestly love the car. I agree on the "weight" of the clutch and where it picks up, but the chassis is tight and really fun to drive, the shifter and steering rack are the high points for me. The fuel economy is a nice bonus too. My M3 is Phoenix Yellow and I've also got an Agave Green 2002

That's interesting to hear. Especially as one is boosted.

Yea the clutch bite is quite high but makes shifting easy.
Ain't that the truth. I'm considering trying to teach my wife (again) how to drive stick, because this may be the easiest driving standard I've ever driven!

Nice!! And yes, the handsomeness of the 11th gen certainly drew me to the car. Definitely connected...great chassis tuning, great little car!

Phoenix Yellow! 🤤

Mine is Silver Grey, but with imola red interior.

Love that road-trip story. Glad it all worked out in the end. What a fun way to break in the new car! :D
Thank you! And yes, put over 300 miles on the drive home so was nearly halfway to the break in mark by that point.

Did a similar thing back in 2017 when I found a Gen1 Raptor in Delaware. Flew to Philly, salesman picked me up at the airport, drove the truck home. Granted, that time, I was solo. But still fun!

Congrats on your blue Si I have the 2022 Red Si and I'm from MA too. It's nice seeing the rare amount of 11th gen Si's when driving. Such a great car!
Thank you!! Whereabouts in MA are you?

And to your point, I have yet to see a new Si anywhere around me in any color. There are a few 11th GEN civics, but no Si’s!

If that M340 is Portimao/Cognac, that's exactly what I'm thinking about ordering. Very nice looking car!!
Our current garage is an Apex Blue Integra 6MT and Sapphire Blue Macan S. I also had a 2016 328 6MT in Estoril which the Macan replaced. Clearly I like that color!
Interestingly enough, the catch point on the Integra I test drove was super high but my vehicle is right in the middle, which I appreciate. I also like the lightness but that's since I daily it into Philadelphia traffic.
Congrats on your Si!!

Indeed it was. I had spec'd the car/built it new, so it was exactly as I wanted it. Yet another reason I regret getting rid of it. Had the AA Concepts carbon fiber front lip and rear spoiler. Car was gorgeous!

Oh, so I wasn't very far from you when I flew into Philly and picked up my car at Honda of Abington. Small world!

And thanks!

Really nice color. Only seen white and red here where I live in Canada
Thanks! Still have yet to see another Si in the area.

Very small world, you had my preferred M340 spec and I live about 10 minutes from Abington. I actually got my Integra from their sister dealership, Acura of Abington.
Go figure!

Peabody, MA (Northshore area). What about yourself? I see a lot of Sport 11th gens and only a select few Si's
I'm down in the Southcoast area (Swansea). I did buy my E90 335i (N54) from BMW of Peabody back in 2011.
