Valid points by everyone above, but especially Dr. T's 'apples to oranges' comment.

I think when you make a sporty version of an economy car, you're always going to have some limitations, even when you push the limits. At its heart, the Civic Si is still a Civic, because that's where the car starts. The Type R is an amazing car, but it's still a FWD-based performance car. I'm not dissing either version of the Civic, but they're just never going to be "apples to apples" comparable to a Corvette. But in some ways, they're better than the Vette. As much as I've love to own a C5 to C8 Corvette (not a big fan of the C4), the Civic Si would be one of my top choices for a sporty daily driver over a Vette.

The first Corvette that interested me was the C4 with the LT5 engine (all aluminum DOHC 32V V8) and it only came with the ZR1 package. The C8 has an LT6 that is the most powerful normally aspirated production engine in history. I come from a family of Corvette enthusiasts, my father had a stock ‘57 that never got completely restored and my brother had a ‘59 that was completely restored. I don’t spend as much money on cars as they do but I do keep my eye out for a 1983 Corvette with a rusted body so I can buy it cheap and fix it because I’m good with bondo.
I almost wrote that I'd make an exception for the C4 if it were a ZR1. ;)

There is a great video from Hagerty with Jason Cammisa on this car:
