It has been a while since we've seen a redesigned Civic and the new spy photos of the Type R have certainly created a buzz about the new car. After all the current generation first came out in 2016.

There hasn't been any official news about the 11th Gen Civic's release date but since it's going to be a 2022 model I doubt that we'll see anything until next year. Especially since production for the 10th Gen Civic hasn't finished yet.

Today Honda announced that the 11th-generation Civic will debut in late Spring 2021.

"First up, the Civic. In a news announcement sent to Motor1.com, the automaker confirmed the 11th generation Civic would debut in late spring of 2021. Our request for additional details was declined, however the announcement does state the Si Sedan will return for the new model. Additionally, the announcement reveals Civic hatchback production will shift to Honda’s North American facility in Indiana, as the automaker’s UK plant in Swindon – the hatchback’s current assembly location – is slated to close next year." ~ Motor1

I love that they're switching to the American production instead of the UK!

I hope the US production allows them to lower the cost a bit... the Civic is CLEARLY the best hot hatch out there... but damn is it expensive.

I would hope so but I think that's going to be wishful thinking.

All we can hope for is a hotter Si and this time around I think its even more likely to happen.

I found this old thread because after just seeing the news about the 2021 Civic coming out, I thought we'd be waiting another year for the 2022, but it looks like it'll get here late Spring. That will probably be the debut though, with sales not happening until the Fall.
