Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today launched a teaser page on its company website to release initial information on the all-new Civic Hatchback, which is scheduled to go on sale this fall. Honda will hold the world premiere of the all-new model on Thursday, June 24, 2021 (Japan time).

Agreed. Sadly, from what we've seen in the patents (and the spy shots) the taillight isn't full width like it appears to be. It appears that the center portion is actually the 3rd brake light (again, confirmed more or less in the spy shots). I kind of hoped it would be a true full width tail light, but it will appear full width when stopped. Kind of an interesting way of doing the brake lights without having to put it in the rear window. But I think they'll look better than the sedan's tail lights either way.

Same here, the back end looks a bit too chunky for me. Hopefully it looks better in the official photos and in person.

It also makes me wonder how Honda will turn this into a Si or Type R if they don't use the sedan.

I have to think the Type R will be hatch only, but I'm hoping the Si will be offered as both a hatch and sedan.

Agreed. Type R will be hatch only (probably mostly because it's a global model). And I hope the hatch gets an Si... I could see them adding it a year or so later as well (like they did with the 8th gen Si sedan). Someone claiming insider info (so take that with a grain of salt) mentioned honda replacing the Sport Touring with an Si Touring model which would be an awesome option as well.

I don't know what sales were like for the 10th gen hatchback but judging from how many I have seen, Honda should have no problem justifying an Si version this time around. It also helps that since Honda reintroduced the Civic hatchback, other automakers also introduced similar body style vehicles and see success with it.
