I used my iPhone X with wireless CarPlay for about an hour with no issues today.
I’m not sure I will have to take a look at it tomorrow I haven’t paid much attention to it. I know if I hit the button on the steering wheel and say the name of the contact person it seems to work OK . Have you checked to see if there are any updates for it?Hi,
I have the 2022 civic sport model. The wired carplays works fine. However, the wireless bluetooth connection is pretty glitchy. Every 1-2 minutes or so (sometimes less) the connection glitches for about a second or so. I've tried two iphones with the same issue (iphone 12 and Iphone X). Android works fine (Note 9). I already tried factory resetting the touchscreen, relinking the device, restarting phone, and a lot of other things with no luck.
Has anyone observed similar issues?
Hey @graphene_civic welcome to the forum and congrats on the new Civic. Does it happen every time your drive the civic or does it come and go?Hi,

You must have the touring trim. I’m talking about wireless Bluetooth media player.I used my iPhone X with wireless CarPlay for about an hour with no issues today.

I checked this this morning and I have no issues. Good luck let’s us know what you find .I’m not sure I will have to take a look at it tomorrow I haven’t paid much attention to it. You might not notice it like this. The best way to notice it is to play music (better if it’s a song you know well or you might think the pause is part of the song). And again, I’m taking specifically about the Bluetooth connection. Wired apple CarPlay works fine.I’m not sure I will have to take a look at it tomorrow I haven’t paid much attention to it. Awesome, thanks for letting me know. Which trim do you have?I checked this this morning and I have no issues. Good luck let’s us know what you find .
I think wireless carplay only uses bluetooth to establish the initial connection, then all communication is done via wi-fi.I used my iPhone X with wireless CarPlay for about an hour with no issues today.
You might be right. I'm not too sure on the technical details of wireless CarPlay.I think wireless carplay only uses bluetooth to establish the initial connection, then all communication is done via wi-fi.
I haven't had issues with the bluetooth connection glitching, but I have had that with the charging. My phone won't stay charging without a case and no matter where I place it.Hi,

I'm having the same issue on my 2022 Civic Ex. I took my car to the dealership yesterday and they couldn't figure out how to fix it. They are ordering me a new head unit as well as a new bluetooth receiver/transmitter. Do you have an update?Hi,

I can not help but think that this is a software issue.I'm having the same issue on my 2022 Civic Ex. I took my car to the dealership yesterday and they couldn't figure out how to fix it. They are ordering me a new head unit as well as a new bluetooth receiver/transmitter. Do you have an update?
This is correct. WiFi supports higher data transfer speeds which are required for CarPlay.I think wireless carplay only uses bluetooth to establish the initial connection, then all communication is done via wi-fi.
I don't have any updates. I haven't heard back from Honda or my dealership since I reported the problem about a month ago. I should go back and ask if they can order a new head unit and receiver/transmitter as well. Another issue I've had recently is that the wired CarPlay is buggy as well. The head unit struggles to establish the initial connection with my iphone and I have to plug and unplug the cable from my phone multiple time until CarPlay starts. Sometimes it works right away, sometimes I have to connect/disconnect it 5-10 times. Once CarPlay starts then it works well. I've tried multiple cables and multiple iPhones with the same issue.I'm having the same issue on my 2022 Civic Ex. Wired CarPlay was buggy in our Gen10 as well, I think it got better later on, but originally w could never tell if it's going to connect this time.Another issue I've had recently is that the wired CarPlay is buggy as well.
