2022 Civic EX after market radio - thoughts on this radio?

It's pretty hard to replace stock "infotainment" units in current cars as they integrate a lot of other non-audio stuff into it as well: not just steering wheel controls but also settings for the doors auto-locking/unlocking, power windows, digital dashboard displays, clearing maintenance reminders, recalibrating the TPMS, etc., not to mention having a display that works with the reverse (backup) camera.

It's not like the old days where the radio was just the radio (and CD/MP3 player controller)... Someone would have to make a third party wiring harness that tapped into all of those controls/features and that will have a very small set of buyers, I doubt one ever gets made.

This one you linked to in the OP is interesting, as it comes with a dashboard piece that fits flush with the OEM dash to seat the wider display panel on the EX with the stock 7" display? Versus being some kind of "upgrade" to the Touring model that has a 9" screen?

But it does note it would not work with the OEM backup camera - what about all those other settings, would it control them?

IMHO if it's better sound you're after, just add a subwoofer, or an amplifier and speaker upgrades.

I installed a device dorm my '18 Civic from these guys, so far for half a year the radio has been working fine, you can contact them

Due to the differences in harness and dashboard mounting I doubt this is compatible with the 11th Gen Civics, but my wife has a 2016 Civic EX-T and this probably would work as an upgrade if she ever wanted one. Nice!
