Westshore Honda in Tampa Florida is charging a $15,000 Additional Dealer Markup (ADM) on this 2022 Civic Hatchback Sport Touring.
Till supply keeps up I'm sure we'll continue to see more like this. What a joke....
That might change slightly when the Z06, likewise with the Type R, but I could be wrong about the former. Some dealers aren’t even marking up the new C8 Corvette that much.
The dealership here in Jamaica added on a ridiculous markup to bring it to $42,000 as well. They did it because it's the only Honda dealership we have here. They have other branches but if you want a new Honda, they're the only suppliers. So I've basically been priced out.Everyone seeing dealership mark-ups should turn around and find another dealership.
Like you said, you're at the mercy of supply vs demand. Either pay or wait. Toyota did that with me here, everyone wanted a $3000-$5000 USD markup and I bought a honda civic because they would sell at no markup here. If you are in DIRE need of transportation either look at a temporary solution on another car dealer who wont mark-up or lease? The dealership here in Jamaica added on a ridiculous markup to bring it to $42,000 as well. I'm seriously considering a 2022 Kia Forte (marketed as the Kia Cerato here) as an alternative option now. My only concern is once the warranty ends, it might be trouble maintaining it because Kia parts are not easy to source in Jamaica and the resale value may drop somewhat. The only cars that hold resale value here are Hondas, Toyotas and Nissans. Toyota's option is the new Corolla which is overpriced too and I find it not only ugly, but bland. Toyota no longer sells Camrys here either. Nissan Jamaica no longer sells sedans.Like you said, you're at the mercy of supply vs demand. Either pay or wait. Not Florida, just that dealership. I got a $1000 off of sticker on my 2022 Sport Touring Hatch in FL and a hefty amount for my trade. That is ridiculous! This has to be just Florida. I just purchased my 2022 ST Hatchback in Boost Blue in Southern Nevada, today. I paid MSRP +550 for a dealer package I could not negotiate off (believe me I tried). With taxes, it came out to around 35k total. I absolutely love it. But I would not have paid 15k above MSRP. That’s insane. The production of these are certainly ramping up, so hold out fellas.
EDIT: Actually, they did give me $250 off of MSRP, but because of the dealer package I essentially paid $550 over MSRP, the dealer package was $800.
That was your takeaway, LOL!!!!???On top of the insane markup and Wetshore (Dis)Advantage, how can first year maintenance possibly total the suggested value of $296? We are talking about an oil change or two, tops.
Would never do business with this dealership. They should be shamed!
I thought it was the funniest part of the markup. The takeaway is obvious friend. That was your takeaway, LOL!!!!???

This is how it is and sadly you can’t do really anything because of the market. You can go to Kia and you will be paying 10k in only market adjustment and 5-8k more in there prices. You can’t expect anything less when there are no new vehicles on lots when dealers used to have 300+. Don’t buy a new car now if it’s not for you, but you can’t change the fact that this is new car market till inventory starts to catch back up. And if a dealer isn’t adding this market adjustment and add-ons where you can see it they are adding it somewhere else where you can’t .Westshore Honda in Tampa Florida is charging a $15,000 Additional Dealer Markup (ADM) on this 2022 Civic Hatchback Sport Touring.

hey I’m in Vegas and looking for a dealer not doing a mark up on a custom order. Can you let me know the dealer you used? Or pm me please?Thank you!!Glad in Las Vegas I literally just paid MSRP - no added crap. Had to go to every dealership in the city to find one that would do zero mark ups..
