When I drive around town, they're constantly going on just in time to flash a car approaching in the distance, then going off a second later. I feel rude driving around with these things going on and off.

I'm experimenting tonight with turning the feature off. Somehow I doubt I will ever think to put it back on! Putting my own high beams on was never much of a struggle ...

One of the first things I disabled when I got my Civic along with the auto headlight with wiper feature. I dislike the auto headlight feature as well. They turn on when its not even dark out and randomly when passing through an underpass. On coming traffic must think my car is having a stroke or something when the lights are constantly switching on and off. I believe the light sensitiviy can be adjusted on the Touring trim but not the Sport trim.

I disabled the auto high beam immediately after getting the car. I love all of the other automatic stuff, including the headlights; so many cars have them nowadays I think it's normal. I have a Touring and have not found a way to adjust the light sensitivity.

Check the "Lighting setup" catagory, it should be called "Auto light sensitivity". It's there according to the manual but it doesn't specify which trims have it.

I've never had issues with the auto high beam, I think maybe once or twice they turned on when I didn't need them. I should note they've only ever turned on on backroads for me

About a dozen years ago the Fed DOT decided that high intensity retroreflective highway signs would be a great idea! The old more is always better thinking....
Anyway, with these newish signs seemingly gathering sunlight for 12+ hours and adding that to the reflection of my high beams....Yeah. I'll turn my high beams on when I want them.

My '24 Civic Touring had them...never really had much trouble. My '21 Pilot EX-L has auto high-beam and its crap. Turned it off.

i have it on my Si. disabled along with LKAS and auto braking changed to lowest sensitivity.
I've kept the lkas on in this car. I don't find it to ever over react, but it may save my bacon one day. On the other side, I've got my Outback, which was aggressive about pushing me away from the edge and towards oncoming traffic in curvy roads. Turned that off right away, warning only. On the other hand, the Subaru auto braking seems better than the Civic. The systems vary a lot in their effectiveness, some make things better some worse ...
