So I got my maintenance minder codes as usual for my car but this time it was B12.

The thing is B12 doesn't make sense since I replaced my cabin air filter and engine air filter only 5k miles ago.

Does the MM just automatically put up codes or is it dynamic? Like will I get the brake fluid change code the day after I change brake fluid just because at X amount of miles it should pop up?

I am pretty sure the codes are programmed based on several engine operating parameters.

It doesn’t know you changed cabin air filter and engine filter earlier than what the computer said you should. Once the codes get cleared and reset, you could change them daily and the computer wouldn’t know the difference until it determined it’s time for you to change them.

That’s how I understand it.
