Apologies if this has been asked before..

Does anyone know if it's possible to swap the stock 7inch touchscreen head unit with the upgraded stock 9inch touchscreen head unit? The issue with using aftermarket headunits is that you typically lose your stock backup camera. So I'm wondering if swapping the two stock head units is possible. I know the 9inch head unit is a bit different in terms of wiring due to the 9inch unit being used to power the Bose system while the 7inch unit powers the standard stock speakers. Has anyone done anything like what I'm asking?

What is your purpose in doing this? The 9" is used with the full digital dash. I'd call Crutchfield and see if there's a direct swap aftermarket head unit that has whatever features you are looking for. Also consider trading on a Touring. You start doing some electronic swapping and you are looking for some possible warranty issues as well if something goes wonky. The 11th gen Civic is essentially a group of interconnected computers, proceed with extreme caution.

just to note that the 7inch head unit is a 1 screen/body together unit meaning the actual head unit is one piece attached to the screen and extremely easy to remove while the 9inch is a floating head unit like the new Pioneer,Alpine etc floating head units meaning the screen is one item and the head unit body is another seperate item.

the problem with the later is that on the 9 inch models the head unit isnt as easy as the 7inch which you can literally do in 5 mins.

the head unit on the 9 inch sits vertically right behind the usb connectors and climate controls in the center console to get to it you need to remove a shit load of parts from the shift knob to the plate under ,cup holder, arm rest etc.

basically you need to do all that you see in the attached video, what you see at 1min.34th second in that video right under the climate control knobs behind that thick black wire is the actual head unit sitting vertically.

I would much rather go with these new android aftermarket versions ofcourse that is if you do not need to remove all the parts you need to with the 9inch oem version I just mentioned.

The 9" is not used only with the full digital dash. The US SI comes with the standard dash and the 9" infotainment.

I want a better infotainment screen whilst keeping the car as stock looking as possible. (Honda logo on screen upon boot, ect..)

I can understand that, did not know the Si used the 9 inch Infotainment screen with the smaller dash that's half digital. Who knows, the Si screen might be plug-n-play, worth investigating.
