Does anyone else's sedan have a hool in the driver's side rear door sill?

Just noticed this little hole with a plastic plug on my 2023 Civic Si. It's only on the rear driver's side door, not on the passenger side. There's a little rust starting to form which is why I noticed it, at about 6,000 km's now...

What is this?!

Not on my 24 EX sedan. That is weird. Did you pull the plug out?

I didn't. On further research it looks like it might be a hole made for paintless dent removal (PDR)... I bought the car slightly used so it's a possibility. I'll talk to the dealer that I bought it from. I don't mind too much, it's a used car, but I'd like to know what to do to prevent further rust.

Apparently it can also be due to rust coating? The irony

PDR is my thought also!
A little touch up paint around the whole or a bit of grease maybe.

no, but i did notice a 1 inch strip of missing paint of the bottom, leading, edge of the the passenger side front door. i just touched it up with touch up paint. it's not visible unless you push the fender trim in a bit but i didn't want rust to start forming. i did hit a crater/massive pothole that bent up my side skirt a bit. maybe the fender/door made contact and took the paint with it.
