After 3+ weeks of ownership my review of my Civic:

Good:
  • GREAT BOSE stereo
  • Wireless charging / apple carplay / android auto
  • Auto climate control
  • Interior layout
  • Fuel economy

Bad:
  • Seat bottoms are too hard, I thought they would soften over time but so far they have not.
  • Poor lumbar support and no adjustable lumbar.
  • Wind noise in the driver side door
  • Interior road & tire noise
  • Horn is not loud enough

The bad for me…..
Chips in hood paint even though I don’t commute on highways or tailgate.
Bizarro CVT “shift” behavior when using paddles. No rhyme or reason when it decides to go back to D or hold “gear”.
Noisy sunroof.
Lackluster cooling and heating.
Random rattles.
Noisy and unpleasant engine feedback when holding RPMs.
Too much fender gap.
Understeer sensation.
Seat bottoms are uncomfortable.
Bose system gets compressed and terrible sounding at more than half volume.
Tire noise.
Slow.
Did I say slow?

I also agree with the Fender Gap. Most of the gaps don't match and the body panel connection points are not even. Overall I think the new Civic is a very cheaply made vehicle that can be optioned out to appear to be more luxurious but it's not. I traded a 2016 GTI for this 2023 Civic and I regret it every day. Fit, finish, seat comfort, wind noise, interior noise, etc.....

Weird how some people buy an economy car and then complain about buying an economy car.
Yep, I admit it. I made a mistake buying a Honda Civic economy car for $32,800 MSRP + Market Adjustment. I wrongly though the $8,000 in options over the base model would make it less economy, it does not.

3 of your Good points don’t come in the base model so I’m not sure how you can say that lol. Paying a market adjustment was definitely a mistake and maybe skewing your expectations. It’s a nice economy car, but still economy. I will say the ride quality and steering and brake feel all feel fantastic. Road noise is to be expected for a car of this price point, and is on par with some higher as well

Forgot to mention the weird amount of water that collects and stays in the hatch and door sills after a rain. Most I’ve ever seen in the many new cars I’ve owned in thirty years. Also, the inconsistent body panel gaps are totally unacceptable. I’ll be selling this one in a couple years for sure.

Many of the complaints I'm seeing here are things that would be easily noticed during the walk around and test drive before purchasing, yet they purchased it anyway. For example:
  • "no adjustable lumbar.
  • Interior road & tire noise
  • Horn is not loud enough"
"Noisy sunroof.
Too much fender gap.
Understeer sensation.
Seat bottoms are uncomfortable.
Tire noise.
Slow."

"I also agree with the Fender Gap. Most of the gaps don't match and the body panel connection points are not even.
Fit, finish, seat comfort, wind noise, interior noise, etc....."

I can only think, why'd you buy it then?

Come on, they paid $32,800 plus a dealer markup so they’re expecting it to be fast, handle like a sports car, and have Lexus comfort and levels of fit and finish. GTI has a louder horn too, get it together Honda

Thanks for all the productive comments. Clearly I made a mistake buying the Civic so I fixed it today by selling just 30 days after purchasing it. I hope all of you have a better experience than I did with the Civic.

Dumped mine after 30 days.

It as my fault..... I only test drove the vehicle for 10 minutes and not over 40mph so I did not notice the seat comfort like I do now on my 45 minute commute each way. The extreme wind noise in the driver door starts at 40mph and gets worse as speed increases, again didn't test drive it over 40mph. Interior noise is also bad at Highway speeds. I live in Houston, TX where the daily commute is often 70-85mph on the highway so the noise is horrible. As far as price, I had to wait 2 weeks for a hatchback sport touring to arrive. Supply & demand rules apply so the reality in Houston is you will pay some type of dealer mark up above MSRP. It doesn't matter now since I sold it today, I thought I would explain myself before I leave the forum for you Civic owners.

My other post explaining the wind noise.

The EX model I purchased is quiet as can be. I believe the smaller 17” wheels with thinner 215mm tires are quieter and ride better than the Touring‘s larger 18” wheels with wider 235mm tires. I also believe the smaller wheels help acceleration too. Notice the 2 mpg city, 4 mpg hwy and 2 mpg combined difference in fuel economy. And did I mention I like the comfortable soft cloth seats? I do agree about the low horn though.

I had my '23 Sport Hatchback 2.0 base for 7 months now. I bought the base knowing it was minimal; however, I have not had the above problems and to the positive, with apple car play, more room in the back seat than any competitor, tight sporty steering and average city(80+%)/highway driving of 34mpg, I got more than I paid for. If there was one over the top negative, it would be the lack of front passenger seat non-adjustable height.
