Currently have 17,500 mi on my Sonic Gray 2022 Civic hatch sport touring. I hunted and searched for this car in the wait for it was unbearable, trying to get the six-speed. I love it. I love being engaged to the car.

Dealer is Calling trying to get me to trade it in and have never had that happen before. I know it's common right now, especially with the used car stuff and I don't know how to tell the difference between this is standard or when it's too good to pass up.

Looks to me like they are trying to get me an EXL, which of course would be the CVT. I understand that if I were to do it, it's pretty much it admission that I will never get a manual vehicle again. With that admission, the lot seems to have a bunch of sport hybrid accords on the lot that aren't getting bought, I'm wondering if they toss me a sweet deal involving one of those should I be enticed?

Love this freaking car. I understand it's not blisteringly fast but it's fun to drive and nice enough. My back feels better in the seats than it did in my Chevy Cruze, although I'm really long trips it could be better.

I too have a 2022 Civic ST with the 6MT and love it. Only 14,500 miles on mine, though :D.

I don't understand this dealer trade-in offer. They want you to "downgrade" from the Sport Touring to the EX-L? Never mind the loss of the manual transmission option, why would you do that?

Are they offering a brand new 2023 EX-L for your 17,500 mile 2022 ST 6MT? That almost seems fair, except I would still not do it, because why the hell would I (or you)? It's the same car, less engaging, smaller infotainment, loses the Bose audio system, ... and it's not like 17,500 miles is a lot for this car.

I have 23 SPT 6sp. Personally, I wouldn't even be interested in this vehicle if automatic was the only way to get it. I sold my 2020 Elantra GT N-line DCT, which was quite a bit faster than the Civic and had plenty of great features. It was very similar, but even though it had a DCT, it was still a bit boring to drive.
It's definitely a "to each their own" situation.

They’re probably looking to shaft you on the trade in. My local dealer offered me 25k, and laughed when I told them I wouldn’t take less than 30k. I told them that’s the exact reaction I had when they had a 10k mile sport touring hatch used listed for near 35k (like 4K over sticker). Then again my local Honda dealer is literally a circus full of ass clowns

Save the manuals!!! I have a Sport Hatchback with the manual. To me the manual transmission is an integral part of the entire fun factor of the car. It’s what makes it such a joy to drive. I also had to go out of my way to get the manual and am so glad that I did. I think if you traded your car you would regret it every time you missed the opportunity to row your own gears. My .02 cents.

I would say keep your SPT 6 speed - sounds like you love it that much. A dealer trying to get you to trade in or sell your car is nothing new these days. My other car is a 2019 Honda Passport. I brought it in for service at the Honda dealer where I always have it serviced. While I was waiting in the lounge, a salesman approached me and said my car is in high demand and would I like to trade it in today for a 2023 Passport with no money out of pocket? I said, "Well it's paid off so no $$$ out of pocket means you would give me an even trade for a 2023?" He smiled and I smiled back. I was nice, though and said I do appreciate the offer.
