Hey welcome.

That looks to be a Stage 1 intake (which is really just a drop in filter)

And the 2nd picture is a PRL IC Charge Pipe and since that's installed, it likely means you got yourself a nice gem because it should also have a PRL intercooler installed as well.

Hope you got a good deal on the car and welcome again

Thanks for the warm welcome and the response!

From what I saw online the PRL stage 1 intake is usually a blue filter and the stock Honda filter is white, is that correct?

That's exciting to hear about the charge pipe, is there a way I could verify that it also has the PRL intercooler?

In the middle of the first picture, there's a metal plate that has "PRL" cut into it, does that indicate any other modifications?

When I don't have cruise control on, and I press up/resume on the cruise adjustor, it displays AF ratios on the tach. So it must have a tune uploaded right?

I got a great deal on the car with low miles. I really appreciate your help!

Answered a few of my own questions already!

That metal plate is a part of the charge pipe I see.

From looking on the PRL website the intercooler should have branding on the side of it. Will be checking for that tomorrow

That's correct. No idea why they called it stage 1 because it's nothing like that, it's just a drop in filter.

As for the AF ratios, I am not sure. I have ktuner v1.2 with a TSP tune and mine doesn't show that.

Keep a look out for what other goodies the former owner left.

Gotcha, well I have a white OEM filter in it right now... I'm leaning toward swapping it all out for a PRL HVI though.

Perhaps it's a Hondata thing? I have a 9th gen Si with Hondata and that's how I view my AF ratios on that platform.

Will do! Funny enough there's a polaroid of him and his partner still in the glovebox LOL.

Thanks again for your help, man

No kidding? That's awesome. Any chance you know what brand it is or how I could check? Good catch!
it would be a PRL DP. if you dont have a CEL light on. If it does then 27WON DP. You can tell by the gap of the heat shield to the turbo. Stock DP has no gaps. You saved yourself alot of money and PRL DP are hard to find.

No CEL so PRL DP it is. The more you guys are helping me uncover the more I'm realizing I've saved!

It also has a remark exhaust that was easy to identify.

Thanks for your help!

Wow. Were any of these mods listed??? That original owner didn't spare any expense on the bolt ons. PRL DP is worth an arm and a leg. Myself, I'm trying to source one or a 27won.

It definitely has or had some sort of tune on it maybe hondata or ktuner, and thats great. What would worry me is if the original owner didn't unlock the ECU and its still tied to the original tuner, which then can't be unlocked? Since they didn't seem to bother to part out any of these gem both ons

Bought it from a dealer and they said "only the exhaust is aftermarket everything else is stock". Went out and checked, and confirmed the PRL intercooler too.

Shoot, I didn't know that. I knew that the tuner will lock to the ECU, but never considered it going both ways. It is only making 18-19psi peak. But I can't imagine the car would run as smoothly as it does with all these mods and factory tune.

In the event my ECU is still locked, would I have to ship it out to get unlocked, or is there any way to unlock it?

Beautiful that's like 3k in extras plus install. So basically, the owner had full bolt ons minus the PRL HVI, which probably wasn't released yet (I got mine last summer)

As for the ecu, yes it's tied to the tuner so you likely would have to contact the dealer and hopefully get in touch with the original owner who hopefully will has it as it is technically useless without unlocking.

Unsure if Hondata or Ktuner have the ability to remote unlock an ECU but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

KTuner has on the fly mapping on some of the tunes, you could just try and see if you could activate that. If you hold down 'cancel' for a long 2-3 seconds it will take over control of the RPM gauge on the dash and put the needle at 1,000 which means map 1, 2,000 for map 2, and 3,000 for map 3.

I will say this though, its easy enough to unmap a tune and reset it and they are not cheap, likely that someone would pull that off before selling the vehicle, where as the actual parts you have on the car are more of a hassle to take back off and deal with resale of them, plus who knows if the owner even kept the original parts to put back on anyway.

I'll try to see if I have access to any other maps. I'm leaning towards the assumption it had Hondata since AFR is displayed on the tach when I turn the cruise off and click decel/set on the cruise adjustor. You know what they say about assuming though lol.

I'm not sure I understand the part about unmapping a tune and resetting it. Wouldn't my car require a tune with all the parts I have at the moment? Is it possible he left the tune on my car but still unlocked the Ktuner/Hondata and sold it, or is returning to the stock tune required to unlock the tuner?

Appreciate the response!

You have to untune it to be able to unlock the device, if he left it turned the device is useless to him or anyone else since its married to the car.
You can have the mods without a tune. I would assume the tune was removed if there was one, because again a pretty easy thing to do to plug it in and unmap it as compared to taking the car apart to remove the other physical mods.
Unfamiliar with Hondata since I have a Ktuner, so cannot comment on the AFR display

Reached out to dealer who contacted the previous owner. It's currently tuned and they're going to ship me the Hondata for free :D Although I may just sell it and swap it for Ktuner as it seems to be the slightly better one for this generation, and I like the touch screen display with readouts separate from my phone.

That's great! Some nice bonuses for you

Wow nice.
I bought the Ktuner V2, while it is nice I think ultimately I will just take the screen out, it is so big and bulky. I thought I would like it, and I do like seeing like the temps and stuff, but I think at the end of the day its unnecessary, I'm just going to daily it and not be thrashing it around
