Earlier this week I traded in my 2019 Civic Si that had cloth heated seats and when I had them on the high setting, they got hotter then the blazes of hell and damnation, lol. But I am VERY disappointed with the leather heated seats in my new Sport Touring Hatchback. Even when set to the highest setting (3) I don't even feel them through a t-shirt. So I am wondering, is this normal or might I have an issue with the heating element? Does any one else notice this or are they just not able to get as hot because of the leather (hope not)?

I have always found heated seats are much more noticeable on cloth vs leather. I have cloth seats on my Subaru WRX that can get very hot, but the heated seats on my Subaru Impreza leather seats are not nearly as hot. On my Civic Si cloth seats the heat can get very hot. When we test drove a Touring model with leather seats they took a long time to heat up and didn't get overly hot by the end of the test drive.

In my ST, usually run mine on 3 to start with, then dial it down to 2 after it gets warm, or 1 or off if on a long drive. It's not like in my convertible where I am relying on the seat heater for warming me up, it's more for getting heat to where the cabin heat won't reach directly (ahem), and once it's warm it's just to maintain comfort (why would I ever leave it on the highest setting indefinitely?).

Not sure how you feel heated seats through a T-shirt unless you wear them differently than I do, haha. Just kidding, I assume you are talking about the lower back area (sometimes I leave it on 2 for a longer drive if my back needs heat for sore muscles or something). In which case maybe you need to adjust the seat position a bit? Or, did the 10th gen Si have lumbar support that pushed the (heated) seat lower back area directly into you, something the 2022 Civic ST does not have (lumbar support)?

The system will automatically drop power levels based on seat temperature and duration.

I like heated seats when you can have them activate with remote start, then you don't have to sit on ice cold seats - especially leather ones - when entering a cold vehicle. Having an Si you can't get remote start so the heated seats offer less benefit for me. When I take the car out after a cold start it takes about 5 minutes before the seats start to heat up , along with the steering wheel, so not that beneficial IMO. Nice to have if I don't have to pay for them, but I could live without them.

I can tell you with the LX 2022, the cloth heated seats heat up very quickly and are almost TOO hot. I’ve dialed them down many times in cold winters because it started to hurt.

So I am very surprised to hear this about the leather because my experience with the cloth seats in very cold temps is the opposite.

@CivicMT, OP, I agree with you about your prior experience. Feels like the “blazes of hell”.
